No, saying things like 'but I failed' or 'I hate my own work' is obvious signs of fishing for compliments. It reminds me of the times when a girl will post a picture of herself on facebook and caption it "I'm so ugly" because she wants people to say the opposite- otherwise, why would she post it if she actually was ugly? If you were concerned about screen design, you'd ask us what you think you could do to improve the screenshot and be more specific than 'because I suck'. And by the way, that's not the only reason it's annoying- it's annoying because you're pretty good with GB. Seriously, make a quest with it- I'd play it.
I said that I failed with those screens because I wanted them to look as if they came from the game, I didn't say they were bad screens. Also, I already explained this, but I really don't like how the screen I posted looks.

You did?
Please, I don't like hearing people down their own screens, especially the good looking ones, it's ridiculous and frankly your not going to get critic with the "I hate my screen" attitude everyone will just feel sorry for you.

What?
You post screens yoshidude and then say that you don't like them but also say that you MADE them look bad.
wtf?
Is there a reason for this?
Are you trying to stur things up?

That's a sad attempt to be Self-Promoting.
I'm just going to say this straight in the most polite way possible. You are SO desperate for compliments and attention that you use it as your fuel to be "inspired." Lately, I've been seeing that you can't do jack without it. This is called the Official Screenshot Critique Thread not the Official Quest Screenshot Compliment Thread.
Do we have to give you a lollipop for you to be "inspired?"

Let's cool things down a bit and focus on why we're here: not to criticize others' intentions, but to give constructive critcism on people's screenshots.

1. I said for the 2 previous screens I posted that I wanted them to look like they could be in LA, I failed doing that.
2. I just said I hated my screen because I do, I wouldn't say I hated it if I liked it, that's really idiotic
3. Why the heck would I lie about something as childish as this? I already told you I'm not doing this just to get compliments, why can't you guys believe that?
4. I have been making A TON of screens without ''inspiration.'' I do not need complements to be inspired.
5. This is getting off topic and I never wanted an agrument, so I am not replying to anybody's responses after this.

Here are some more classic screens. Kind of the same concept as the waterfall mountain I showed before, but this time, it's the lava equivalent across that map

Side note:

One of the first screens I didn't go detail happy with. This is the entrance to a secret dungeon which you can access only after you beat my quest. Uses basic pure GFX.
(I didn't see any comments on this one, so I thought I'd give it a go.)
Well, I think you have just the right amount of detail. It looks great! I just don't think it makes sense to have light around a locked door.
If it's intended to have light around it when it's open, then make some lock block copycat combos. Just make nine lock block copycat combos that start out as all black tiles, but make the following combo each of your light combos.

At first I thought you were saying you hated this screen because of the red color! You'll have to forgive me because I didn't ever have a Gameboy Color, so I guess I'm not yet used to GB coloring.
Anyway, if you think it's too open, try adding bushes or trees but around the sides of the open spaces (i.e. don't put any right in the middle of the paths or right by the fountain; I don't think anyone clearing brush for a town/residence would have left them there).
Hey does anyone remember when we used to post actual screen shots in this thread? That was tight right there, yo.

I know what you mean, Anthus. Hopefully people will give constructive criticism from now on.
You have some nice solid classic screens going on here. I like!
It would be nice, though, if we didn't have to click on the image to see it at regular resolution. Are you using the F12 button to take your screenshots? Or is that the only way your fileshare site allows you to post photos?

These are awesome screens. :3 I especially like the background in the second shot. If I were to say one thing I would change though, it would be the amount of space the player has to move around. I guess I'm just not one for small paths like that.
