Alright. Just finished it. Loved it. I'm a bit confused though, how this ties in with what we already know, what with Celestia and Luna and all that stuff.

And that's how Equestria was made.

Derpy was REALLY easy to spot in this one. You'd have to be a moron to miss it.

I agree, that's something I hate about Derpy recently, they've been making her too obvious. Derpy should be more like finding Waldo in Where's Waldo, y'know, if finding Waldo weren't the whole point of Where's Waldo. Shuddup, you know what I mean. Her appearances should be something difficult to notice, like in May The Best Pet Win, not mind-numbingly obvious like in Luna Eclipsed.

Thoughts:

-It's the first legit moral they've had in a while. Well, I guess last week counts as a real moral, but still.

AND THAT'S HOW EQUESTRIA WAS MADE! This doesn't explain where Celestia and Luna came from...

IMO, most if not all of the morals are at least somewhat true. Let's go through them, shall we?

• Let people make their own choices? Yup. (I can't remember if that's what episode 3's moral actually was, it's been a while since I last saw it)
• Accept help when you need it? Yes.
• Don't be jealous when your friends are hanging out with someone else? Yeah.
• Don't brag? Definitely.
• Face up to your fears (especially when said fear is kicking your friends collective butts)? Yep.
• ...I forget episode 8's moral, despite watching it two days ago. I guess that doesn't really have an actual moral.
• Don't judge a book by it's cover? Duh, who hasn't been taught that moral at some point in their lives?
• Always listen to someone's opinions, no matter how nonsenical they may sound? Of course.
• Teamwork is useful? Well done, Captain Obvious.
• Don't be ashamed of who you are? Uh-huh.
• Don't cheat and don't be extremely competitive? Yes.
• Don't criticise someone when they're doing you a favour? Yeah.
• S*** happens? Definitely.
• Don't outshine your friend when you should be supporting them (and they're very close to having a nervous breakdown)? Yep.
• Don't bite off more than you can chew? Obviously.
• ...Did episode 18 even have a moral?
• Don't be sexist or have sexist stereotypes? Damn straight.
• Don't be afraid to tell someone how you feel? Yup.
• Share? Duh. (Ironic how sharing is episode 21's moral and yet Rarity probably gets the least amount of lines of the main cast.)
• Don't act upon assumptions? Yes.
• Friends have a special magica-OK, yeah, fair enough, I'll give you that one.
• Don't be jealous and don't lie? Correct.
• Don't be a pessimist? ...Wow, that's actually quite...stupid.
• Friends can make an otherwise horrible experience great? Yes, and I know that from personal experience.
• Don't give up? Yep.
• Don't panic over things not worth panicking over, and if someone is, take them seriously anyway? Yeah.
• Be friendly to make freinds? You don't say?
• Sometimes you need to compromise? Of course.
• Be patient and don't try to cheat? Yes.
• Personality is more important than physical traits? Duh.
• Don't brag? ...Wait, haven't we had this moral already? Why the hell is the moral of S2E8 the same as S1E6's?
• Don't be ashamed of who you are? Ye-Wait...What the hell?!
• Don't be greedy? Well done, Columbo.
• Don't be a jerk? You really shouldn't even need to be told that.

Holy hell, that took way too long to write. If I missed any, it's because I've been here typing this for 5 years, and have not yet seen them.

And, as for what you said about it not explaining where Celestia and Luna came from, that's because it had not yet happened. Celestia and Luna found Equestria while Discord was the ruler, and we don't know how long it took since the events of the play for that to happen. It could be millions of years, for all we know.

After that, Banjo, I feel I should tell you about this complete list of fake morals a bunch of my friends compiled for the episodes.

Here, I'll give you the highlights:

Morals

Episode 01/02: If your sister is having a temper tantrum, lock her up somewhere.
Episode 04: Don't trust your own judgement. You're not capable of even half the things you think you are.
Episode 05: All lesbian tomboys are assholes.
Episode 06: All performers are posers.
Episode 07: Never fear for your own life. That's selfish.
Episode 09: If you see a suspicious looking person, it's racist not to go talk to them.
Episode 11: If you can't do something, tell other people how to do it better.
Episode 14: Never listen to your friends opinions; you are the only one who knows what's best.
Episode 15: Dear Princess Celestia, what the f*** did I just learn?
Episode 19: Whining can get you anything.
Episode 21: Dear Princess Celestia, I really fail to see what Dave Polsky is trying to teach me. Please remove him from the writing staff.
Episode 22: Never show any genuine concern for those around you - chances are you're just getting trolled.
Episode 29: There is absolutely no consequence for failing to meet a deadline.
Episode 35: If you half-ass a friend's birthday present and skip out on their party to spend time with business associates, there will be absolutely no hard feelings.

Also, it was pretty refreshing to hear you reference Columbo. Glad to know somepony still knows who Columbo is (albeit I prefer Perry Mason).

I completely disagree. I like the idea of Derpy as her own character, with her own personality, going around doing her own silly things, like any other non-main character.

She got a lot of characterization in Luna Eclipsed with only a couple seconds of screen time; it was brilliantly handled. I'd like it if she got more dialog at some point, or some interaction with one of the main characters. I feel the show has plenty of other background ponies to find; Derpy's too great to be kept so hidden.

Haha, damn, they were brilliant. Especially Episode 7 and 19. Also, the Columbo reference, I've never actually watched Columbo, it's just that "Well done, Columbo" is one of my standard responses to someone stating the obvious. As are "Well done, Captain Obvious." "You don't say?" and one I didn't use, "No s***, Sherlock.".

I see where you're coming from, and I partly agree, however, my bad wording in my last post may make it seem otherwise. I'm all for Derpy appearing often, or even getting a line here and there. I love it when I notice a background pony I recognize such as Derpy, Dr Whooves, Berry Punch or Lyra (and the list goes on further), even more so when their presence is acknowledged in some way, such as them getting a line, or a main character interacting with them. What I don't want appearing often, however, is Derpy's wall-eyes. I feel that Derpy is characterized too much by her wall-eyes, and her appearances are fueled entirely by the meme of Derpy being, well, derpy. Derpy's appearances just feel too fanservice-y. It'd be like if Portal 2 was filled with "The cake is a lie" jokes, or if Nintendo made a new F-Zero game in which you can Falcon Punch other drivers. Derpy should continue getting appearances like her ones in Luna Eclipsed and this episode, but with normal eyes. Her wall-eyed appearances should be less common, and harder to notice.

Yeah, it seems a bit weird to me too, but it's good to have her officially named, if even just to stop all the arguments about whether she would be officially named Derpy Hooves or Ditzy Doo. Personally, I prefer Derpy, though mostly because the "Doo" in "Ditzy Doo" sounds stupid to me.
