And I believe it was 100% completion too. You basically have to KNOW thegame and plan your routes exceedingly well to hit every item in the most convienent order.

yes, I wish I still had that save file, so unfortunately all you have to go on is my word. But I promise you, its true. It wasn't easy, and I will admit, when I died, lost a shield, etc., I restarted my game. So it probably took longer than that, but I only logged ultimately only 8 hours of gametime when completed. But its basically a straight and narrow path from one objective to the next, getting only the upgrades, hc pieces along the way as they cross your path. I only remember going slightly out of my way 5 times to get something, otherwise, most of the items can actually be convienently acquired on your way to your next objective. But that means missing out on a few HC Pieces you can get earlier in the essence of saving time. And getting 100% completion does NOT mean getting all the myriad of rupee pick-ups. That only means getting full magic, bomb upgrades, hearts, items, etc. The amount of rupees need not matter. That should save time on a few speed runs. (Although I did nab all the 200 rupee allowances!) XD

My recorded playthrough of me playing this very long quest is now complete at 118 parts. The 18 parts aren't up yet though....

So much Nightmare Fuel (in case of unknowing, tvtropes.com, look it up)
The Doom Train runs on this supply alone.
And one hit kills. you guys are evil.
But quest is sooooooo good.

Darkkwalker, please don't double post unless at least 12 hours have passed. Edit your post with the new info instead. Thanks.

I made it to the 4th dungeon. I got a key (the one you obtain from the Octorok that shoots bombs), and I somehow managed to find the chest with the boss key. I thought it was weird how I was able to find it so early, but didn't think much of it and used my key to open it up. Later, I found the exit out of the factory into the building that holds the chest for the dungeon's key item, but I didn't find the other key to open it up.

Did I ruin my game by using the first key for the chest with the boss key? Is it possible to find the second key without the dungeon's key item?

you can find both keys to boss key and dungeon item in any order and you can go after one item or the other in any order. So level 4 is a bit open-ended that way. But regardless, you'll need BOTH boss key AND dungeon item to even reach the boss, so you are not getting ahead any by getting the boss key first.
