This would be the first screen I have made in at least a year and a half. It's a re-envisioning of a past quest. I have told a few people about it, but other then that, it's still not public knowledge. I do plan on adding some scripts to this classic gem of a quest, but I want to get a good start on the screen designing, and setup of it before I do that. I have added some bushes to the bottom of the screen, above the trees, since I took this screenshot. icon_smile.gif I'm very excited about this project!

Another WIP shot for the city:

Also, that's a pretty nice screen Angeal - it reminds me of LttP but with a bit more detail. icon_smile.gif

Haha, thanks guys! Yeah, that was my first screen, and I think it turned out nicely. I have changed what palette it uses, and I must say it looks even better now. The music for this area will fit the palette nicely.

That looks great blue_knight! What's going to be where the well is?

Thanks. As for the well, it's still going to be a well but with proper dimensions, new tiles, and the missing elements that are needed to make it look usable (rope, bucket, etc.). I think it would be cool to see an NPC get water out of the well occasionally and carry the bucket home.

Ah, that does sound pretty cool. icon_smile.gif Yeah, you really wouldn't be able to tell that it's supposed to be a well, if it was kept looking like this.

LoL's Timbersin Village

Decided to give the village a new look, I like the new one better then the old one. Also note the stairways are blocked by a mini-tree. (that is hiding behind the heart meter in the first shot) I like to thank Pokemonmaster64 for the "Magic Powder" script that allows the flame to go one tile forward and not three. Both, passive and active subscreen is a WIP by the way.

(I'm guessing the shot with the subscreen is legit...)

Also I got Reply #2121. icon_razz.gif

I got bored while looking through the loose tile section, then found these house tiles.

The lighter red on the trees needs to be a little lighter. There's not a whole lot of contrast on them.

If you would be so kind to disregard the MC water that I don't have, icon_razz.gif
What do you think? icon_smile.gif

Edit - Just noticed the rocks are parallel to each other. Moved the bottom one tile left.

Shane: Great Screen and marvelous subscreen. You could make the lake less linear, though.

Yoshidude: Another great screen. Not much to say.

Jared: Nice map! However, the spots on the top of the tress look out of place in that color. I would suggest another tonation of green.

First of all, thank you Ica44. icon_smile.gif Secondly, How is this? I decided to redesign most parts, yay or nay? Also keep in mind the NPCs are set to "Eyeball (4-way)" so they aren't facing in one direction. Also kudos to you if you know where the stone path tiles came from (hint: they were only use in one screen in LA).

Jared: I like it. The only things I'd do is scatter the rocks a bit and perhaps add a few more logs.
Yoshidude: I dig the house. But the cramped-like design ruins the shape of the pond that has a nice position but again bad shape. Good stuff.

About the stone path tiles, I actually recall them being used in a few places in LA, although I don't have the best memory.

I'll see what I can do about the cramped design, this was actually originally going to be a GB screen, but I couldn't rip the houses... icon_confused.gif

I think you could do a bit better on the water. It seems awfully bland, don't you think? I'd at least add a couple different shades of blue in there to shake things up a bit.

icon_blah.gif

Seriously, though, I think that looks really good. icon_smile.gif But the tree tops do kind of stick out a bit because of that light green. icon_unsettled.gif

Well, might I suggest making the pond a bit bigger? I would extend that it to be by house and fill in that entire section. Those grass tiles aren't really doing anything gameplay wise, so it wouldn't hurt. icon_smile.gif

Also, I would advise against picking an entire tileset just because of house tiles. That's absurd. You need to pick what works best for you all around, be it GB, Pure, DoR, or some combo of them all. icon_shrug.gif

Yoshidude: better, however I think the red trees are too light now.

Shane: The screen design is better, but it feels a bit empty now. Maybe it's about the detail, but i'm not sure...
