Do you think this thread should be unpinned? Brawl has already been released in Europe and it's now this thread is becoming less active.

Who else finds the fire emblem theme in smash bros epic? I think it's among the best in the game.

Does anyone else think that the fact that you can unlock almost all characters in SSBB within about 4 hours disappointing? I think for that reason, I don't like Brawl as much as Melee.

I like it better. I hated how long it took to unlock everybody in Melee.

I think it's nice, only because it gives people "options," and can easily negate that aspect of multiplayer where people can spoil the game a bit just by playing against people who have already unlocked everything.

It's easy as pie to unlock everyone. Just play 1-stock stamina matches with 1% with a flower on your head in fast mode. Couldn't be easier. (Except to read GameFaqs to see which special levels you need to be on and as who to unlock certain things and people.)

Just played some games against Evile. We won both two matches I think...

I got brawl sometime in July or August. My Brawl Friend Code is in my sig. I like Marth most of the time.

Yeah, Marth is very good at what he does. You'll probably be wanting to use primarily Aerial Neutrals and Aerial Forward as your main attacks. I almost never use his B moves at all.

Yep- for the most part, his specials are inferior to his normals. You can kinda use his neutral B (Shield Breaker) as a deterrent against ledge guarding because of the range, but a good player will still be able to counter it. His sude B (Dancing Blade) is next to useless unless you can get multiple opponents caught in it. Down B (Counter) is great as a surprise move, especially against edge guarding, but you can easily headbang because of the relatively long execution and Marth's weird Up-B (Crescent Slash) movement.

Okay, shouldn't this thread be unpinned now. Unless we can increase activity in it.

So let me ask this. What's everybody's favorite stage? Mine's Spear Pillar, with Pictochat and New Pork City in second and third.

Any stage without specific events that can screw you up. Final Destination is a good pick for me, but the Bridge's events aren't so bad that they can cause a loss.

Spear Pillar is my absolute most hated stage. It randomly flips the stage upside down, mirrors it, attacks you with lasers, etc. Basically, its just an unfair stage in my mind. I can't think fast enough to be able to play the stage when it messes with your controls. Left should mean left regardless of how the stage is oriented.

Favorite stage? Depends on what the character I'm using is good at. If I'm using Kirby (my main) I'm all over Rainbow Cruise and Luigi's Mansion. With Ike I avoid FD like the plague, but it's a good stage for Lucario & Dedede.

Agreeing with Alestance on the stages that have gimpable, hard/impossible to predict traps. Also don't like Mario Bros. Characters that have trouble killing horizontaly suck there, and the items kill so early the winner ends up being the one that the enemies showed up the closest to. icon_shrug.gif I mean it's okay if you're just screwing around, but it's a good thing the stage is banned in competitive play.

I don't mind FD as Ike, because I'm not a complete spaz when it comes to recovery. icon_razz.gif If anything, FD is far, far worse as Marth due to his aerial-B recovery. You can easily end up under the edge and unable to get back up easily with Up+B. Ike can at least veer a bit towards the edge and then do his Up+B straight up. Marth has an awkward angle to it. Whatever.

Spear Pillar is a tad annoying. I don't mind it as much if it's not a one on one, but I'd still rather not play there.

Really, I just do FD all the way, I'd say. I prefer one on one matches, and that's just the ideal place anyway, in a sort of "Bioforming" fashion. It makes me want to play on it, rather than me searching for a perfect arena. Everyone else is fine with it as well, seeing as how Brawl has a stage editor, yet nobody seems to care enough to bother making a new stage of a single block with none of FD's under-edge trickery.
