Stuck, I just beat the dream dungeon guy and used the 3 stones to open the door, and went through, The owl told me to find the desert and escape the hills. I explored everywhere I think I can reach, talked to the npc that talked about how expensive the house was, and the one that said stay overnight to see the wheel, but I cannot figure how to do any of that. I must be missing an item or something. Is it possible I missed a dungeon along the way.

There's a hint on the right side. This screen gives the hint on what your supposed to do.

You're supposed to read the plaque in TheRock's screencap there in #196 and follow the hint:

Look at your spacebar map for Turtle Hills and find the four dead trees. There's a point where vectors from the four trees will intersect, and you need to use a bomb at that point on the overworld.

So far into Tower of Heavens Floor 13... I understand it's supposed to be the hardest level in the game, but there are pretty much very punishable rooms. Really, 4 death knights in a single room? I don't want to imagine what nightmare mode is like, I'm doing this on hard mode at a very steady pace. Total death count so far is 180 and counting. I dunno, I feel there should be a bit more balance despite it's supposed to be a challenging dungeon. There is a great difference between challenging the player and just throwing unavoidable damage, something I'm not great of a fan of. Still, I'm determined to finish this through. I'll call it a day for now

 

By the way, for those who are doing this dungeon, there is a bombable wall on floor 10 that you should be on the look out for, otherwise you'll be stuck wandering around for hours.

I have absolutely no qualms about playing this on Easy; I'm in this more for exploration and puzzles rather than insane battles. Although, I am missing 8 pieces of heart and I probably won't go look for them.

 

Do you have the heart recovery ring? I assume you do because I remember TheRock posting a screenshot for you of the gate in the lower right-hand corner of the "Real" world nearby where it's housed.

Take a screen shot of that screen. The blocks are the solution to the maze. You also need the mirage key. It's right of the first screen in the Dream World. There's a burnable bush.

The arrows of the blocks are the maze path solution. So down, down, left, up.

been enjoying myself playing through this on nightmare difficulty but i've hit an unexpected roadblock. I can't fight the level 4 boss because of the shutter trapping me behind it.

This only happens in the 2.55 version of the game. It works fine in 2.53. Will be putting a update out to fix it.

Btw we think that the _latest_ 2.55 nightly (check Update section in launcher to see your version) fixed that particular shutter issue.

For the record, I played through all of Dreams Realm (minus the bonus dungeon) on 2.55; the only version bug I ran into was an issue where if a fairy spawned on the screen, the shutters would never open again, which I fixed immediately. Do you remember seeing any fairies spawn before the shutter refused to open?

If this is on the truly latest, then there's an issue we need to fix.

It's the 2.55 version of the quest. The shutter is right tile to the right of where you enter the screen and that's why it didn't work. I just added another shutter one tile next to it to fix it.
