Suck my anti-aliasing, I love the NES PAL (no im not going for NES)
how can I improve lower garb of his sprite? I want it to not be so gray and blocky, but I cant find a suiting color to blend it into
Blue or purple works. You don't have to go strictly from white to gray to dark gray. Do some color shifting for more popping~

I see a lot of colour shifting in that gray.

Baby, you spin me around ♫
Definitely good practice; it's not often I draw ordinal directions.

WARNING: A non-hostile, ambitious, custom spriting project is approaching fast!
(Click here if you don't get the reference)

What This Custom Spriting Project Aims to Have...
-As complete of a sprite sheet as necessary for a general Zelda Fan Game.
-Use of a 16 color palette.
-8 directional sprites.
-8 frame movement animations, contained within a 16x24 bounding box, to ensure room for offset.
-Two sets; one with Link's original, more appealing brown hair, and an alternate blonde reskin.
-Translucent Shadow, where one color of the palette is specifically dedicated to this shadow.
The Schedule...
One pose fully animated for both sets each day. This should allow "breathing time," as well as constant progress.
Future Plans, If All Goes Well...
-Matching custom enemy, NPC, HUD and item sprites.
-Matching custom tiles to compliment the sprites.
Usage...
Free to use given credit.

Well, I think I can tell which is your preference.
Seriously though, the sprite you've got done so far looks very nice. I'd say more, but I'm trying to think of what I'm wanting to say, and I can't quite figure out how to word it.

I like blonde Link. His hair stands out.

I eventually put Charizard's Link Sprites in the Revenge 2.50, as well as gave both him and the Original Revenge 2.50 Link Sprites ALTTP Style hats.

Here's a bigger version of it too:

That doesn't explain why they make brown but not pink.
Because Link is too sexy to wear pink! XD

Pink haired Link is only used for really good Zelda games.
