Now I've finished exactly 25 out of 50 screens. My quest will rely on story too, so you've got a scripted puzzle/platform/story game here ![]()

Oh gosh Goriya, what have you done? I get the feeling this level's gonna consist of me trapping myself in mirror puzzles repeatedly.
Speaking of level 3 though, level 3 of mine is finished, and all the enemies are scripted and placed. It's complete except for the boss. I'm not really as happy with this one as I am with the others. It's kinda the point where you can see that trying to plan an overworld and three dungeons in two weeks started getting to me, and the design feels subpar compared to the others. But oh well, it's the best I can do at this point. Today is gonna be scripting-palooza, as I (hopefully) script the bosses for all three main levels, a bonus boss, and all the overworld enemies.

Day 8: I finished about 7 of the 18 floors in my quest. ...Yeah, I'm not going to make it. Maybe if I worked on this quest every wake hour, but the time I use Zquest decreases by the day.

Five days left, and I still have a lot of stuff to do. Even if I don't finish all of what I had planned, I'll cap it off and release it anyway ![]()
EDIT: Here's some random info about my entry:
- It will be using my modified Classic set.
- It will feature multiple swords with different abilities.
- If I have time, there will be an upgrade system of sorts.
- There are a few shops hidden that sell useful items.
- Magic and Health regenerate constantly

- Each area is 180 degree turn from the last.
- Bosses range from generic to random.
- Four 'stages' to play through.
- Speed run encouraged!
- And more, or..
- maybe less!

I just set up the mirrors and started playing around with them, I then got into a weird situation and I constructed this beauty because of it.Picture is hugeBut seriously, Level 3 is making some pretty good progress.

Well, a little status update. All three of the main level bosses are done now. So in the rest of the time I have today, I'm doing the post-level cutscenes and the associated scripts, and then I'm gonna try to get all the overworld enemies done. That might be a bit ambitious, but I'm gonna try. There's a big thing I've gotta script tomorrow that's probably taking up all my time, but any time not spent on that will go to the final boss, as will most of Wednesday.

I think Jay C. and I have to drop out of the contest. We have lots of real-life things that just kind of came up recently (I got a final confirmation of a job that starts on the 29th... go figure), so there's no way we can possibly concentrate on the quest while dealing with IRL stuff.
But while we'll be dropping out of the contest, we still intend to finish what we started and release it, just past the deadline. With the extra time, we could also get to add a little more polish and detail, but the quest will largely resemble what it would have looked like had we been able to finish by the deadline.

Aw, dang. Sorry to hear you can't make it. On the other hand, from the sounds of it, you would have been my biggest competition, so every cloud has its silver lining. Good luck finishing it later!
Status update here: Post level cutscenes and scripts are all done. But, I found a pretty massive oversight in the main script and spent most of my time fixing that, so I didn't get to doing overworld enemies yet. Oh well. I'll make time for them on Friday, I suppose. It might have to go into Saturday. I'd rather not be adding anything new on Saturday, just fixing what's already there, but not much I can do about that.

I'm pretty much finished with my quest. Since there's still about a week left, I'll probably do a bonus level or something.
How are we going about submitting the finished quests? Do we just put it in the QDB?

Whoops, I did it again!

Well this is DEFINITELY getting fixed, I WILL have level 3 done today, even if it takes the rest of the day, which it won't.

Great progress Everyone!
Please don't worry about not getting completely finished before the deadline. I need to talk with Russ, but I think it could be nice to have an ALMOST finished catagory of quests as well as normally judged, completed quest category. In fact, we haven't really discussed judging at all yet, so if you have some ideas for categories, please let us know. For example, best graphics, best storyline, best bosses, most fun, etc... Keep up the good work!
