More excited for sky battles myself. Those look neat. I just hope the horde battles let you run away if you're not strong enough to handle them, like, say, early game.

I think that option (Pokemon-amie) is optional, so that's not something you'd have to worry about if you don't want to. I was gonna ignore it myself, until I realized you could play this mode with a Pichu.
Yeah, I was refering more to things such as taking Pokémon to stupid mini game shows to get them evolved in the first place etc. The amie thing still seems needless to me, though.

I know some people who are probably ecstatic about the amie stuff, and kids will probably love it. It's something that you and I don't care about, but there are people who have really been wanting something like this for a long time (mostly since Nintendogs I guess).

I guess at least they are tying something different out. Not really finding the amie feature appealing but at least they're adding new features and not just converting a traditional 2D Pokemon game to 3D. I know I won't be getting neither games at launch since I'm not big of a fan of Pokémon and plus the lack of a 3DS. But will defiantly be buying it one way or another sometime after the launch when the price is lowered a bit or something.

See, I find it funny, people wanted the game to be shaken up, and we get the Fairy-type... now people hate it. ![]()
But, can't exactly blame them. It really doesn't make any sense at all as a type that's strong against Dragons. Dragons usually eat fairies. And as Scootaloo said, "Navi didn't even know Volvagia's weakness!" A Light-type, I could have seen, but Fairy-type honestly just kind of seems like a superfluous type to give a designation to otherwise generic Pokemon. I don't care for it much myself, and Dragon-types seemed to have good enough weaknesses already, and their point kind of was to be strong... now Lance can be wiped with a Wigglytuff. It just... doesn't make sense.
I'm okay with the other changes though, hordes are neat, sky battles look awesome, and amie, well, I'd ignore it if Pichu didn't exist. >.>

Well not unless they remake Johto/Kanto again you can't XD. No Wigglytuff Only Run for you! Unless you plan to stretch the battles out xD.
I agree they should've named it the Light Type, or maybe even the Moon Type. Fairy sounds way too gender specific, even though we clearly know Jigglypuff and Clefairy can be male..

Since this hasn't been really updated in a while, check out the last few updates on Serebii.net:

Not too fond of the team name, then again, Team Rocket was the only one that had a nice ring to it. The other team names just seemed forced or uninspired. Pancham's evolution actually looks kind of badass. The others... look okay I guess, the sword is odd but we already had a gear Pokemon so whatever, and at least it's not a trash bag or an ice cream cone. Speaking of candy Pokemon, we appear to have a cotton candy one... *facepalm*
I might reconsider getting this game if I wasn't interested in the whole new Mewtwo thing and other potential mysteries, and the fact that it's the first 3D game in the series. And 3D Pichus. >.> <.<
Hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised though.

Wasn't fond of Pancham on its own, but that evolution looks badass. ._. I'll probably end up throwing one into my team if I can't get my Eevee team in this one. X3 Otherwise, nothing really stood out for me. :S

Nah, they're on the same level. Pokemon adds animals, Call of Duty adds... dogs. Which are animals. But Pokemon adds more animals so technically they do innovate more than Call of Duty.

Which really isn't saying much. Honestly, the only things that really catch my attention as innovation to the series are the horde battles and sky battles, and free-er movement. Other than that, It's all feeling like a rehash, just with more mons (some of which look ridiculous, like that Cotton Candy one. You can tell they're really grasping for straws now.

So they have just announced "mega" evolutions for some old pokemon.
http://www.serebii.net/index2.shtml
Not sure about my thoughts on this. I mean, how is it going to work? Is it going to be like a 4th evolution, or just a form change like the kami trio? The whole thing just seems a bit odd to me.

I... what? I... am going to reserve judgment until I see this in action for myself, but my first impression can be summed up in one word:
why
