Long story short:

 

That was amazing.

 

Rough at parts, but I certainly had a hell of a great time. It's definitely the hard mode of Shovel Knight, and Plague Knight's mobility is so much different that, even though enemies and some level design are recycled, you have to approach them differently, which is great. I loved it, and can't wait for the Specter and King Knight campaigns.

 

I highlighted the streams on Twitch, so they can be viewed on my channel. On another note, I'm exporting the Freedom in Chains streams to YouTube, whee.

The Satellite? Streaming? It's more likely than you think. Okay so it's never likely, but it's happening tonight. Not sure exactly when but within a couple of hours, I think, and I'll update the general streaming thread when I'm about to go live.

 

Basically, there's a randomizer for A Link to the Past. Team, Eppy, and myself are gonna race it tonight. Should be fun.

Friday or Saturday, one of the two, probably in the evening or late evening, it's happening. A Link to the Past. But not just any Link to the Past! ... and not Randomizer either.

 

It's time for a weird experiment. Super Nintendo and Game Boy Advance versions... at the same time. Two games, one controller. Chaos will ensue. The RNG will screw me over and so will the differences in game design. And to spare everyone's ears, no audio will be heard from the GBA version. This is gonna be fun. But mostly hilarious. For you all anyway.

Aiming to start this sometime around 8-8:30PM EST, so between an hour and a half and two hours, will post actual start time in the stream announcement thread. Look forward to it!

A Link to the Past Randomizer is coming back this Wednesday. Another race, this time with a couple of streamers I follow and hang out with, Mystakin and SDiezal (and possibly Coreag). I may get crushed but it's for fun. Mystakin and Diezal are speedrunners, though only recently have taken up ALttP. I'll have to bring my A game and not get distracted by the masterpiece if I'm gonna keep up.

 

That'll be at 2PM EST on Wednesday, and I'll probably put the highlight up on YouTube afterward as usual. I'll post here when it's about to go live as well as provide multiple links for viewing.

So that went well. I actually pulled out a victory with a little over three hours' time. I was gonna get the exact time but coincidentally Twitch now won't load for me to look at the time I had. I think it was 3:02:53, not certain on the seconds. Thanks to everyone who came to watch!

Completely out of the blue, along with this message, but impromptu A Link to the Past Randomizer race tonight! Most of the same participants as last time, except with Tempest instead of Core. Happening in... I don't honestly know. Two hours-ish? Seems like a good guess. Whenever Mystakin's done with his current game, which is trying to collect 100% in Banjo-Kazooie, the Xbox Live Arcade version. You can come chill until the race begins if you like, but I'll be putting up an announcement in the main streaming thread when it's about to begin. Hope to see you all there! Or some of you. Or none. It doesn't matter to me.

Not so lucky that time. 2:39:06 was my final time, nice sub-3, but fell behind to Mystakin at 2:14 and SDiezal at 2:31. I mostly blew it on a pointless detour out of precaution that I turned out not to need, but ah well. It was still fun. Thanks everyone who watched!

Randomizer is my life now apparently but looks like a race with Mystakin is gonna be underway later tonight. 7 or 8 or so, will announce in the pinned thread when that's happening. Hope to see you there!

If I ever get unlazy and find the time for it, I'd love to play more Castlevania (perhaps 3 Famicom, IV, and Symphony of the Night) and the other NES Megaman games.
