Has anybody ever had this problem in Terraria? I discovered this on the PureZC world last time we played. Basically, there is a bug at the east edge of the map where it is completely empty from top to bottom. There was no such issue on the west edge, though. This problem never happened on any of my single player only games, and this is the only map I ever played on multiplayer.

That has a tendency to happen in multiplayer mode. The bounds of the map are not defined right to the client, but are still otherwise valid coordinates to both the client and the server, so even if you fall into the void and die, the game still counts it as a real death. The simple solution is to look before you jump off the edge for now; the 1.1 update, whenever it hits, is supposed to fix this.
Yep, you're 100% right, as I just tested the multiplayer map on single player. What was the void is now filled with what should have been there. I learned elsewhere (forgot the source) that this problem specifically happens with medium sized maps on multiplayer.
Update: Here is our map so far.

There's a Minimap mod which can also act as a full fledged map, it shows the voids appearing as you explore. Looks to be some kind of memory corruption issue.

So, I will have the server back up tomorrow afternoon. I wonder what the plan will be? Plenty of resources on the map still, and I know we will get sick of playing well before they run out. I have found a use for almost everything so far, one of the few exceptions being dirt blocks. Even the iron makes the chains for chandeliers being put up in the right places. Then again, I have so many excess slime gels too, as useful as they are.
On another note, I noticed that when creating an artificial underground glowing mushroom farm (ours is just below where the cavern music begins to play, at about 50 feet below), while the mushrooms grow, we never got the big ones to be made, even with the right height clearance. I wonder if the game just doesn't allow it outside of the default places, or that it has to be done below a certain depth, lower than where ours is.
