Pet episode

In other news. I have not been posting a whole lot here since I have not been around PZC much lately. Which is in turn due to me not wanting to update my quest topic since I'm working on extra material I don't want to spoil. icon_razz.gif

Anyhoof, Raritys episode was full of win and the song was epic! :3

And in case I don't drop in again in a while, happy yule!

...

Anyway, I just went to the store for my weekly grocery shopping. I saw My Little Pony toys in the seasonal aisle and I was utterly disappointed. All of the ponies were pink and none of them were Pinkie Pie. If they actually looked anything like the ponies on the show, I would have gotten one for each of my nieces (and toy cars for each of my nephews)

...So I just bought a bag of candy for each of my siblings' families. You can't go wrong with a bag of Snickers.

I'm sure it's been linked to before, but I just want to be sure.

I'm rewatching Return of Harmony since I first watched it before I considered myself a brony. Did anyone else notice that Discord's distractions in the maze relate exactly with their cutie marks? I totally didn't catch that the first time.

The older gens weren't nearly as bad as people paint them to be. I absolutely loved G1, and G3 was a'ight.

Most of them, yeah.

The best ones were probably "Rescue at Midnight Castle" and "Crunch the Rockdog", both which I believe to be more awesome than FiM. And that's saying something.

G1 would have been better if Hasbro spent more time on character development. (Specifically referring to Rescue at Midnight Castle here, since it's all the G1 I've seen.) The most interesting characters shown are Tirek, Spike, Megan, and Firefly. All the others are pretty flat and boring.

Crunch the Rockdog was about as good of character development as one could ask for. Truly an awesome episode, with the exception of the lame song at the end.

Rescue at Midnight Castle was mostly just awesome for the action. And in truth, once you've watched it 20 or 30 more times, you start to notice some really subtle and rather disturbing elements. Not to mention the stuff that was plainly obvious, like Tirek threatening to behead Spike, or painful-looking transformations that remind me of The End of Evangelion, or demons b****-slapping each other, or the main villain getting torn to shreds on-screen.

And Megan...well, it's best to just ignore Megan.

I'm sure I'll have time after my essays to watch the second half of Midnight Castle, but so far, it looks like my favorite by far, and the only one I plan on watching, is FiM. Everything about it, except for the occasional song, is extremely well done in the style I love.

Besides. That chart I linked to above, G1 has half of the left side taken out, and more of the right side as its focus. I'm all in it for the left.

I'm good for now.

WHAT? U NO LIEK THE SONGS? There might be something wrong with you. icon_razz.gif

Admittedly, I'd rather have dialogue. But still, the songs are usually quite good. (And infrequent) Winter Wrap Up is catchy.
Also, the Parasprite Polka doesn't count, nor does the intro sequence.

Rescue at Midnight Castle had 4 songs. (The sea ponies are frightening) If that isn't excessive, I don't know what is.

Okay... I've exposed myself to G2 and G3, AND THEY'RE BOTH AWFUL. Bipedal ponies are terrifying. G1 is at least tolerable, aside from the excess of songs.

I can't get "Smile, smile, smile" out of my head. It keeps playing endlessly...I can't...stop...smiling! IPB Image

Can't wait to see what they do with whatever episode it gets used in. I could use a Pinkie episode to brighten up my day...

Edit: Upon listening further, I think it's gonna be in the Christmas episode!

Dude, G2 was amazing, ignoring the art. The stories were awesome.

And don't try to find a suitable comeback, none exists.

I'm really enjoying this music for some reason.

EDIT: HAHAHAHA There's a midi version of it!

That song is perfect for jumpstyle. (It's "bouncier" than hardstyle music.)
Well, it's a bit slow, but still. It'd at least be fun on DDR. icon_lol.gif

And it's really friggin catchy.

DR: My point is G1-G3 are not good enough to watch. G3 is annoying with the "Yes, yes, yes" pony. G1 has too many songs. G2 has obnoxious VAs and bipedal ponies.
