The first dungeon in my game gives you the ocarina.  Now to figure out how to make a boss that'll be weak to it in some way.  Maybe i'll have the boss shoot at you from a safe distance, and have the ocarina reveal a way to access it, so you can damage it.

Gotta love RPG Maker.  haha.

OMG Myrule is such a evil quest. I'm at the final level with 31 rules with 94 deaths right now.

Almost done with the subscreen; almost another major step closer to a final product. :D

Or you could just have Digdogger.

He's using RPGMaker, with the Zelda pack thing. I've used it before. But I don't script so I can't do much with it. :P

Today, I played around with the music theme I want to accompany the overworld in my quest. It's light and energetic to fit the quest's short length. It's unlike anything you've heard before. :)

I'm just pointing something out, this thread is called "What did you accomplish today in ZC?" but this is in RPGMaker. :P

Mods said this was fine a while ago, but yeah, it should suffice since it's a Zelda game being made in a Classic style.  harhar

i cannot finish anything. I wanted to make my likelike game. i have hit a snag. there is also cut scenes to be required. and then I assume every dungon should have a gimmic. dugons are not my strong point, to make the ones like everyone else does. with so much kapow and specialness that removes it's self from humble zelda 1 essence.

so then I drew out the map that is hopefully a 180 flip. if anyone wants it I can send it to you.

and an inside out zelda. if you want that. reinventing the dungons to be with over world graphic essence, and the over world the dungons. it is hard. dungons are hard. you can have that if you want it.

I'd like to see this map, if you don't mind. If you need any kind of help, let me know as well.

I like rpg maker a lot! It's very flexible. (Although it has a tendency to corrupt my projects! Gah!)

I worked more on some side projects and messed around with the new Dance of Remembrance Hybrid Tileset. I made my own remix of clock town just for the heck of it.

Well, it's not so much what I got done TODAY, as much as the last few days. A few days ago, we had a huge storm (actually a tornado, and my house was barely out of range. We rarely get tornadoes here, I think this is the first one I've seen since I moved here seven years ago.), and it took down the power in the area. After the power came back up, the internet was down. So, with little else to do, I worked on my quest a bit more than usual.

My side-quest is just about finished. I've got the overworld fully functional (besides houses and caves), and just needing a second pass to add in decoration. The dungeon itself is just about finished as well. I finally got all the scripts working together, with some help from Freya, who actually wrote them. (Pits/Lava and Freeform Doors) I figured out how to get non-scripted FFCs working, so I've got rolling spiked logs that need jumped over, a non-scripted GB-style Miniboss warp, and a couple other things. The dungeon can be fully traversed from start to finish, I just need to fill it with enemies, build the miniboss and dungeon boss, and find an easy-to-use sideview ladder script for a small section of my dungeon that I've just cut out for now, in case I can't get it working in time. (The stairs just link directly to each other for now.)

Depending on if I get enough of Balance of Power done in time, I'll continue my side-quest by either working on plot stuff if the NPC Firebird update is released (including building the houses and caves), or adding a second dungeon if it isn't. For now, this side-quest is just a quick diversion to make sure I have something ready for the Expo in case my main quest isn't ready in time. (Plus, I wanted the practice for using Firebird. It's a different style than I'm used to, and I want to figure out how to design decently with it.)

I figured out how to make some things from the GB games without scripts, such as:

-Ground that turns into a pit when stood on for long enough

-Spinney one-way shutter thing

-Normal shutters with freeform dungeons

I wrote dialog. Lots and lots of optional character dialog. I don't think the quest as a whole is too text-heavy, but this optional stuff is about three times the text of the main story. And most players won't even see it ...  Hopefully I can wrap it up today.
