Okay, so everyone won't have any previous Brawl experience. You have to use the Wii remote (I printed out the instructions off the Brawl site), so I'll be practicing strategy and not controls. There are only at least 10 people signed up for it, currently. Winner of all three rounds wins a Wii, a copy of Brawl, a Plasma TV, and $5,000. This'll help alot if I win.

Well, at a GameStop about half an hour away from me is issuing a three-round tournament, each round on a different night. My friend told me about it, and he and another friend are going to be in it. I signed up for it, as well, and as far as I know, I'm in it.

Tournament also going on out here. Thing is, I called yesterday... and they said the first 16 people in line, and the first 16 from the other GameStop a few blocks down will be the participants. I dunno if the prize is the same, either, but I'm guessing it's at least a free copy of Brawl.
Free copy of Brawl, or the same prize you just mentioned... heh, I still won't enter. I just want my own copy and go home.

I'll be checking back to this site: GameStop Brawl Tournament Details
I'll look back over it, and see if it's really just the Wiimote. I hope it isnt.
EDIT:
Well, I looked over it, and the official rules state that gameplay instructions and game controllers instructions will be given before the tournament starts.
Notice that the official rules say "controllers", not "controller"... I hope you can use gamecube controllers. Or at least the classic controller.

No. TS: You MUST find yourself a copy of the default Wiimote Brawl controls, and a Wiimote, and practice, even if it is in your head. If you go in there with no instinctual idea of what buttons do what, you're fried. It is so difficult to play on so simple a device, however unfamiliar.
You could help him out by providing a list of what does what, since you can actually play it.

I think I might have a shot at this tourney, I've never met anybody good except my friend. And he won't find out about it.

I think I'll go into the tournament. I'm not the best at Melee, but people say the feel of Brawl is different. So, who knows? Maybe not playing Melee enough will help me play Brawl!
(I'm still pretty good at Melee, though

So, who wants to start thinking about what the next Super Smash Bros. will be like?
That's at least six years off, TMS. None of us even have the game yet.
Plus, if Sakurai can't brainstorm any real new modes for another Smash, then it probably won't happen. See the interview with Sakurai on IGN if you haven't already.
