I just beat Killer is Dead tonight. Here are my overall thoughts on the game. First off, right off the bat, do not, I repeat DO NOT approach this game thinking you'll get a similar experience to No More Heroes. The game itself is more of a half assed version of what No More Heroes and even what Lollipop Chainsaw is. It doesn't really do anything unique or special nor are there any memorable moments in the game which is very disappointing. The gameplay is similar to No More Heroes, but here's where the problems begin. You really can't get the most out of your main character until you get to about halfway through the game though on a positive note, combat becomes a lot more fun after about Episode 6. So if you can get through the first six episodes of the game with ease, you're looking at pretty solid combat. The story is pretty much non-existent. You'll wonder why you even have a story in this game in the first place. As for the visuals, I describe it as a No More Heroes 2 HD. If you played that game on the Wii, you'll feel right at home here. The voice acting is garbage. I suggest playing this game using Japanese audio. And the biggest flaw of them all...THE GIGOLO MISSIONS. This is one of the most offensive missions in a video game I have ever seen. In the Gigolo missions, you meet a lady at a bar/restaurant and the mission is to use X-ray glasses to stare at her breasts and her panties without letting her catch you peeking. They should fire the person who decided to put this into the game. While I did give a huge list of cons, if there are any pros in the game, I have to say towards the end of the game. That's where I thought most of the pros of this game lie. It picks up on the action in the combat sequences not to mention the final battle where I thought was the strongest point of the game. Overall, Killer is Dead is not the SUDA 51 game you are looking for, but if you are manly enough to play through at least half of the game and survive those god-awful Gigolo missions, then you may want to take a look at this. Don't pay for than $20 for this game.
OVERALL SCORE: 3/5
And also, DCEnygma inspired me to continue my 2nd playthrough of Persona 4 Golden and to go for the Platinum trophy.
