Sigh. I forgot you used this avatar. I guess I better switch to the one I made while the site was down.

I'm not sure how well Dexter crosses with Ponies. Death and bubbly happiness are like oil and water. This makes it difficult to get into Darkly Dreaming Dash.

Beefster, about your avatar...I believe Omi from Xiaolin Showdown is MUCH more deserving of that position than Ben. Just my humble opinion, Omi could absolutely slaughter Ben. Heck, even Terrance deserves it more...

I never really got into Xiaolin Showdown. And personally, I like Ben 10. Terrence is an antagonist, so I don't want to include him. Also, is Omi a primary role? I guess Blossom is kinda the leader of the Powerpuff Girls, but she isn't given any special precedence otherwise.

Sometime, I'll do an avatar of some of the roles Tom Kenny does- Spongebob, Eduardo, various narrators, etc. He's definitely more versatile than Tara Strong. Except for the fact that he doesn't voice any ponies.

Maybe I'll do one on Nancy Cartwright as well, though her only major roles were Bart Simpson, Chuckie Finster, and Rufus (From Kim Possible, for what it's worth). Apparently, she voiced some ponies in G1 as well.

I'll go ahead and say this.

If it weren't for Ben 10, we'd probably still have Teen Titans.

F*** you, Ben 10. Take that s*** out of your avatar.

2,000th reply. Called it. Called it fate. AKA 2001st post, for you nitpickers.

But srsly, can we get back on topic now please? I have no idea where it's gone. I see no ponies and it's beginning to get dark in here. icon_worried.gif

Omi was very much the primary role. And he also had the best quotes out of any character in any cartoon, ever.

Omi: "Ha! In Your HEAD, Raymundo!"
Raymundo: "That's 'in your face', baldy."
Omi: "Talk to my fingers!"

xD

Like Gusty and Baby Heartthrob.

Although a Tabitha St. Germain avatar would be much more appropriate; she voiced...well, obviously Rarity and Luna/NMM, but also Martha from Martha Speaks, several G3 ponies including Wysteria and Minty (two of my fav G3 characters), and Naomi Misora from the dub of Death Note.

Hell, maybe I should do a Tabitha St. Germain avatar...

Also, Prospekt, I very much approve of your statement.

ANYHOOF....

...

...

...Ponies.

Yep, Ponies.

To be honest, the previous episode was kind of...meh. I mean, I loved Twilight's crazy 'sode, Cutie Pox, and with Rainbow Dash's pet competition, but most of the episodes seem to be just okay, not as astounding as season 1. Also Scootaloo needs her own episode. She seems to fluctuate between awesome tomboy and really girly, and it bothers me. Go with tomboyyyyyy

She walks many paths, and has many personality traits. If that's fine for her, that's fine for me.

I kinda thought that the episode wasn't too bad. There've been better, yes, but it had its redeeming qualities.

... now if only I could remember what they are. icon_sweat.gif

The idea of a Scootaloo episode creates a paradox for me. I don't want one, because I don't really like Scootaloo that much, but at the same time, I do want one because it would almost definitely give her some, IMO, much-needed character development.

Also, could you give an example of a time when she was girly? Cause right now, my memory is completely blanking out on me. icon_blink.gif

Well, it IS a new writer. You have to cut them a BIT of slack on their first episode. The next episode they write, put 'em to the grind stone. But this one? They get a bit of a grace period.

EDIT: I didn't even notice that this thread passed 2000 replies.

Didn't Lauren Faust step down from any involvement with the show at the end of Season 2's production? If so, I think we can expect another decline in quality with Season 3...

Edit: If there even IS a season 3...

Season 3 is scheduled.

Optimism, people! Lauren Faust set the stage. This doesn't have to mean that everyone else is lost without her. She's proven her point, and I expect a good number of animators to follow suit. (Not necessarily girls' shows, however)

Wow, way to not be a dick to Jayson Theisson. Seriously, the man's almost as much of a genius as Faust.

What you're not taking into account is that he doesn't content-check the stuff he reads. He reads it on request and always posts his first take. For example, with Pretty in Pink, he mentioned people told him it was sad, but he sounded extremely skeptical. By the end he was nearly falling to pieces. You could hear it in his voice, and you can see in the comments that he wasn't faking it for effect.

EDIT: Also, just throwing this out there - IMHO, Lesson Zero and Sisterhooves Social beat every episode of Season 1 by a long shot.
