I'm starting right now. Get ready for a short, and probably graphically limited quest :D

It's only going to be around an hour or so of game play. There's gonna be 4 'stages', and each one will be different, but that's about it.

Added a rage system to my quest. When you take damage or kill things, you build rage. Equipped weapons and abilities have secondary uses that consume rage and are usually much more powerful than their primary uses.

Made Heart Containers appear in a interesting manner when puzzles are completed. I'm not spoiling, so you'll have to play the quest to see this little bit of eye candy!

Screen designs are going well.

Oh, and I created a couple of scripted elite enemies (with more to come). Those are enemies that are generally more powerful than the standard ZC enemies and have different attacks and behaviors. They are most commonly found in dungeons, where you will fight them as something like mini-minibosses. Those fights are challenging and require some manly fortitude to overcome. Prepare yourself for death or glory!

It may be time for me to work on some cutscenes...

Status update, the second dungeon is finished... sort of. All the screens are laid out, all the scripts are in place, and it can be played from beginning to end. But... there's no enemies. I was planning on scripting those tonight, but then holy crap it's late and why am I still up? I guess the plan is to script the enemies and place them tomorrow (or later today, technically), then plan out and build the third dungeon. Then on Monday, I'll make the main bosses, and possibly start on the final boss, and try to get all the main overworld enemies scripted and placed. Tuesday I've got a heavy amount of scripting to do. Wednesday will be cutscenes and caves. Thursday will be taking care of a few misc things, and the final boss, if I haven't done that yet. That leaves Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for beta testing/general improving stuff that could be better. Or, worst case, buffer days in case I can't stick to my schedule.

Bug testing is important. You don't want me to walk off any more Cliffs again =P

Welp. While I'm happy with the miniscule progress I've made, there is no chance this will be done in time for next Monday. I'm heading out of town this upcoming weekend so I'm going to have to drop out. However! I will continue working on this quest all the same. It's been a lot of fun getting back into ZQ during this time, but my schedule just hasn't really allowed me to complete this. Good luck to everyone that's still in it and I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone does! :D

If I'm not going to finish this quest, I will drop out one the last day.

That said, I made not too much progress today, I've gotten some of level 3 done(With a rather sudden difficulty spike.), and that's about it, however, I will make sure to finish level 3 tomorow.

Oh don't worry Eppy. I'll script it so that, if the file name is Eppy, one random cliff becomes walkable. Just for you. :cheese:

... yeah point taken, bug testing.

Would it be even possible to script that? :D

Oh yes. Fun fact: If you name your file "Dan", a certain boss in The Darkness Within has a special final attack just for SpacemanDan. :superevil:

I just set up the mirrors and started playing around with them, I then got into a weird situation and I constructed this beauty because of it.

But seriously, Level 3 is making some pretty good progress.
