It's hilarious that three episodes leaked before an airing date has been released, and 3-6 to boot.

Just watched the trailer. Still makes me miss the original show. It's a personal taste, but I really like small stories- a half hour of something really immersive where you're dealing with a small part of the cast at a small location and really getting to soak in the atmosphere. The last two seasons have been really beautiful, but with a few exceptions, I just don't find the world they live in as interesting. Last season was a notable improvement, though still weighed down by the lack of any feeling of actual journey- with the notable exception of the tale of the 1st avatar guy.

Hopefully they're still letting other folks write episodes. Season one of Korra was awful, and it's pretty obvious it's because every episode was written soley by the creators.

I just finished season 2, and I hate to say it, but... this season was pretty poor. It had some amazing potential with the spirits and the spirit world, but I think the whole thing was executed very sloppily. It honestly didn't feel like something written by the guys who brought us Avatar: The Last Airbender, and that's pretty sad. I really hope season 3 is handled better.

Well, I got bad news for everybody. The show is being put on hiatus. Episode 8 will be aired on Friday, but rather than episode 9, as planned, 8 will be followed by a Spongebob rerun. The rest of the series isn't going to be aired on Nick. Bryke is stressing that the show is not cancelled, and that they'll have more news at that Comic-Con panel this Friday.

So, to recap. Book 2 was moved to a Friday not timeslot, when the target audience is all away doing stuff. Then, the timeslot was constantly moved around. After that, book 3 was announced finished, but no word on release date. After 4 episodes were leaked, Nick instantly started to push it out with only a week's warning at a rate of two episodes a week, only to abruptly stop without an explanation.

Well, there's two big reasons.  A.) Low ratings, and B.) The fans.  A big issue is that they weren't getting that many views because the episodes were constantly leaked online, and rather than watching them during the timeslot, people would watch the episodes and then ignore Nick.  I'm not saying that Nickelodeon didn't screw anything up because they surely had a hand in it and I wanna beat them up, but apparently the average number of people watching it every week was about 1.1 million...so yeah. :(

Kind of a shame, since I was really enjoying Book 3 so far, I thought it was the best work they'd done for Korra yet, especially after the uh... deus ex machina of Book 2.

So to be fair, a lot of this was Nick's fault. Book 2 was aired on Friday night, i.e. when the target audience is all out doing stuff. Then it kept jumping around, from 8:30 to 7:30 to 8:00 to who knows when. That lost a lot of viewers right there. Then, when Book 3 was finished, Nick made no move to air it for weeks, leading to the inevitable leak. Then they rushed the book out the door with a week's notice, so that barely anybody even knew it was airing. The low ratings are a combination of fans not being able to watch it because of its timeslot, former fans having left after the poor handling of Book 2, fans having seen the episodes already through leaks as a result of Nick's poor planning, and fans just not knowing Book 3 is already airing. So basically, it all comes back to Nick handling the show incredibly poorly.

Agreed about Book 3 so far though; I'm really loving it, and for the first time, I feel like the show is as good as The Last Airbender.

Gonna come back here to bite my words. Holy shit, this is as good if not better than the show has ever been. Main characters are doing smart things, bad guy gang is great, Henry Rollins for some reason, amazing animation. It's great to not feel bad watching this show anymore.

Also, after the last two episodes, a lot more credibility is going to the "Nick put the show online because it got wayyy to dark to actually broadcast" theory. We've now had two episodes end with essential executions.

I agree, Season 3 has been really well written and I can't think of a single episode from it that I've disliked in any way.  I had my issues with Seasons One and Two, but this more than makes up for their shortcomings.  Right now I'm pretty much on the edge of my seat after the past few episodes, just pretty much thinking after each one: "Dammit all to hell, I NEED THE NEXT EPISODE NOW."
