here I had thought the fanbase would fizzle down after new episodes ended and wouldn't be back until season 2

The exact opposite, though. People are so fidgety waiting for season 2 that they need to keep obsessing so their hands don't start trembling from withdrawal.

That and the fanbase has actually grown since season 1 ended. Like, grown considerably. I certainly wouldn't have predicted that.

Well, now that Studio B and the HUB have started significantly acknowledging their cult following, it's bound to jump in popularity. Seriously, show that "There's a Pony for That" commercial to ANYONE, and they will not be able to resist trying the first episode.

Yeah, I realized the other day that, for a while now, all the advertisements I've been seeing for this have been targeted at adults.

And the iPhone commercial *was* pretty glorious.

Just to show that this has been true for awhile... the first Star Trek conventions were born from the near-cancellation of the series. The fans needed something to do or else they'd explode.

I don't mean to double post, but July 15th is "Brony Day"! Hooray!

I just thought I should point that out. And it's not just a fan thing, Hasbro and the Hub announced June 15th to be Brony Day.

I'm going to assume you meant July 15th, and the second date, "June," was a typo.

God, I feel like the Gala just ended. I was expecting an awesome Brony Appreciation Day, but the haters were out in swarms. Completely ruined.
