By the plot twist do you mean the one after Level 6? It's just the Blue Ring. And what thing are you referring to? The blue orb thing? That's just a misc 1 item used because you can't animate in 1.90. Granpappy is misc 2.

Anyway, a BA1 remake would be interesting. I don't really see the point in doing it, but go right ahead.

That's what I was reffering to. It was a great plot twist, and I didn't want to give anybody an idea of what it is. Then at dinner, it struck me that I could use spoiler tags. I've actually had the idea to remake BA1 for a while, but I want to finish my current quest first.

Play the whistle to open a cave entrance where you can learn the path through the maze.

Also be warned that the next part is easily the worst part of the game. You'll want to make maps for level 5.

Am I the only person stuck here?
I have tried repeated times to reach the whistle... each time getting lucky shots in against a group of patras then dying and going back through the path until reaching the patras and weakening them further. After about 20 of these I managed to defeat the patras enroute to the whistle. But I haven't beaten Level 3 yet. I got through all six prequel parts of it and ran into a room with 2 offensive patras, 2 defensive patras, three red wizzrobes and three skulls. I just have 6 hearts and no rings... seems like an awfully steep uphill battle doncha think? I managed to defeat the red wizzrobes, but the patras just eat me alive. Did I miss a ring somewhere do I need to hack n slash further and hope to catch a lucky break with those pesky patras?

You're using 2.10 aren't you? Don't. It replaces all the enemies with harder ones. So you'll be fighting Darknuts, Lanmolas, and Patras way earlier then you're supposed to.

Believe it or not, I beat the original Bikdip's Adventure in 2.10. 4 times. Three during the summer, and I tried a speedrun on Christmas Eve. I think I ended at 50:42, but I can't remember. It was hard, though. And I remember one time when I completely skipped most of Lvl. 8, and couldn't beat Level 9. But now I'm just getting plain off-topic. I also got close to beating Mitch in 2.10, (after gambling, and winning, 999 rupies for the Master Sword, and getting all the free items) but couldn't due to tilewarps. The tilewarp to the Golden Arrows was off.

Yeah, the whole deal with Patras is because of 2.10. I believe I made it pretty clear in the quest description and readme that you shouldn't use that version.

I've never tried BA1 or Mitch in that version, but it sounds "interesting". I would try doing BA1, but I don't know if I could bring myself to play it again, because it was way too boring and poorly made. And speaking of the speedrun, did you use the Level 1 cheat in that? Because I did when I did my speedrun of it way back when.

Yeah, I did. If I had to fight Patras, it would be like, 2 hours. It made for an interesting Christmas Eve, though.

Cant beat level 1.

I took the candle route and have come across a *what appears to be* a dead end. there's a staircase in the center of this room thats blocked off by tiles on all sides. Then there's hands that keep popping up that will take you to the begining of the level.

Whats the secret I'm not getting???

Did you try killing them? You can use the candle and leave/reenter the room until they're all dead, or you can use the bombs. Once they're all dead you can push the left block to reach the staircase.

oh icon_neutral.gif

I killed them all before but I just saw the door on the left open (kinda useless). Didn't know it triggered that block.

Thanks !

OMG, I had no idea about the 2.10 Patra problem. That explains a great deal. A while ago I tried to play the Revenge 2nd quest and couldn't believe how early I encountered a Patra (I believe it was right at the entrance to L2, I had 4 hearts, green tunic and wooden sword). After losing to it like 20 straight times I scrapped the quest.

It all makes sense now!

Not clear enough.
I completely missed it.

Besides. 2.10 and 2.5 are the only two versions I have that work at all.

Guess I must fight 4 patras... maybe I can get lucky. lol I managed to beat 3 once, but 4? Could be tough. heh heh. Onward, David! Fight off the army of Goliaths! We know you can do it!

On the download page:

This quest is best played in 1.90. I strongly suggest you play it with that version unless your computer absolutely cannot run it. If that is the case, 1.92 is bearable. 2.10 is completely out of the question. You will encounter SEVERE bugs if you use 2.10. For later beta and alpha versions, use them at your own risk - I have not tested any.

In the readme:

It should be stated that 2.10 IS TO BE AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS, unless you happen to like fighting Patras, Digdoggers, and Lanmolas in early levels. It is far too buggy to play in 2.10, end of story.

So yeah, I did point it out in both places, but I guess I assumed people would read the whole description before making a mistake like that. The readme I can understand people ignoring, because it's huge and has display problems if you don't use the right font in notepad, or have a different screen resolution than the one I used.

So that's too bad that you can't get it to work. I can't guarantee that things will become any better later on, and it may be unplayable at some points. Maybe 2.5 might actually run it better, I wouldn't know because I've never used it. Actually I thought 2.5 didn't even exist yet, but whatever.

Hey again.. I'm not sure if its been discussed before, but something happens on A Fantastic Mountain Adventure that makes it so you cant use your sword. At first I thought it was intentional, until I died and found that the problem didn't go away. It's happened to me twice already, this morning and just now.

It's gotta do with that mini-boss that upgrades your shield when you beat him. And its annoying having this happen since it takes me many tries just to get this far...

WHY?! icon_frown.gif

Has anyone else experienced this???
