It's a fund raiser for a camp for kids with life-threatening illnesses.

Illnesses like Ebola Zaire! icon_lol.gif

*hugs Ebola and says PLZ DONT BANANAN MEH*

Edit: But in all seriousness that's a pretty noble cause. Kudos.

Doesn't compare to "Camp Schwa", rookie. icon_sly.gif

Ya, Camp Schwa has a nice ring to it. Plus, no offense Ebola, but there is no way I'd go to a camp named after a disease with a 90% death rate. icon_razz.gif

That goes to show you. The word Schwa can give ANYthing a nice ring.

Except the ringing you get in your ears after you've been hit by a supersonic blast. Schwa can't make that ringing any less painful. icon_frown.gif

By the way, I've had that kind of ringing many times before. icon_dead.gif

When have you been hit by a supersonic blast?

By the way, do you know that a schwa is technically the sound made in some words that sounds like a combination between a short a and a short e sound?

Supersonic blasts? Isn't that how the one girl in Avatar sees things?

Avatar? Wow, it's been ages since I saw that show. Although recently, I friend of mine and I got into an argument about which would win: fire or air. We've been arguing for a week about it. icon_razz.gif

I haven't been hit by a supersonic blast exactly, but someone blew a dog whistle once and my head just EXPLODED with this chaotic ringing noise that WOULDN'T GO AWAY. icon_cry.gif

I told my dad this and he's like, "There's no effing WAY you could hear a dog whistle." So he tested it out by playing high-pitched sounds on the computer and I ran screaming out of the room, clutching my head in sheer pain.

Ooh... Gives me the willies just thinking about it...

Let's see, fire or air? Depends on the fighters. Personally I like Lightning a lot as an element... Many of my RP characters use lightning. Yinns does, kinda... Korrachi from the Gemini Kids does, and so does that girl I'm trying to think up. Meteos is her name. But anyway yeah it completely depends on the fighters. Like, in Pokemon I think the whole type-matchup chart is bull honky if Pokemon were real... Birds would actually have a chance against most electric Pokemon, ice-types could beat fire types, etc... With increased difficulty, maybe, but still possible. Unlike the games, where it's much moreso based on the element types.

Speaking of Pokemon, I've been having ideas for a fanfic recently...

And before you ask... Yes, I love fanfics. Most people can't stand them, but writing fanfics is a great way to unleash your imagination while wrapping it around something you love a lot. The only thing I don't get is on fanfiction.net how so many people seem so compelled to pair canon-characters up together romantically... It doesn't need to just be about romance, peoples. People should try writing a more action-oriented fanfic sometime, hehe.

Here we go again. Lightning was the one thing we kept fighting about the most. Personally, I think air would win. It's just so dang neat. Beats fire any day.

Wow, you can here pretty high pitched noises.

Fanfics are okay, but some are just plan horrible. And, like you said, they always try to pair people romantically.

The curious thing about high-pitched sounds is some electrical devices emit sound you can neither hear nor describe, yet I sometimes notice if or if not it's there.

You aren't alone Koopa. I hear Television sets on, the TV sets around my old school, when on, don't show the traditional white noise, or heck, if its on a channel that doesn't have a broadcast, it looks like its off. But, I hear a faint high pitch ring when I'm in the vicinity of working electronics, as I type this, I'm hearing the same ring. If I were to walk into another room I wouldn't hear it.

A lot of electronics do it, all I can think is that its the sounds of electrical current pulsing through metal.

Well the current itself is 50-60 Hz which would be a very low sound, but it could very well be a large multiple of that. I must investigate some day.

I know what you mean. Though for me it's a bit more extreme. For example, if I stand in the right place I can tell that one of my close neighbors (nothing further than right next door) is making a cell phone call because I can hear a distinct ringing sound. It's freaky, but it's awesome. But more freaky.
