Cliffs of Dover is an 8th tier song. It's the only instrumental on the main set list.
Yes, but it also spreads out the notes. You're still hitting the notes at the exact same times you would normally. That's why a lot of people don't consider it a "true" cheat. It just plays mindgames with you. icon_razz.gif

Well, it makes it "harder" in the sense that the notes have less time on screen before you have to play them, so you need faster hand-eye coordination, but after playing expert for so long I suck at easy/medium on regular speed because I strum too early. I'm used to having that short delay between deciding to strum and actually physically strumming. Hyperspeed fixes that problem, so it's actually still fun(ish) playing medium (not as much on easy).

But still, I assumed it was all the notes just played faster.

Nah, not played faster, the song is still at the same speed, just the note board moves faster.

Oh my gosh! My brother just beat Through the Fire and Flames on Expert! And he only hit 37% of the notes. But somehow me managed to stay in. Gosh, he's really good.

You can beat TFaF with only 37%? Heh, that's really funny. icon_smile.gif Tell him I said congrats.

He was using the no-fail cheat. It's impossible to clear any song with only 37% hit rate. Did the rock meter ever drop into the red or was it constantly in the green?

I am on Cliffs of Dover on expert now. Cult of Personality wasn't that hard. I mean the second solo was a bit tricky, but not impassable. Cliffs of Dover is really giving me a hard time though. icon_mad.gif

He beat it in carrer mode. The no fail cheat doesn't work in carrer mode. Most of the time the meter was almost down completely. But he managed to stay alive.

The general rule of thumb is that hitting a note takes you one step forward, missing a note sends you two steps back. So theoretically, you'd need at LEAST 66% to pass. 37% is impossible. Unless you can show me a career score around the 80-100k mark I don't believe you.

Well, iI think it's possible if your brother could have had a wonderful start and got all of the star powers... still, not very likely.

Ya, after seeing him play some more, I think he was lying to me. The thing that stumps me though is that I saw the results screen. It said he beat the song, on expert, in carrer mode, with only 37% of the notes. But I still think he's lying. He doesn't really have a good track record for honesty.

The Results Screen doesn't specify Career Mode, I don't think.

Well, when he exited out from the results screen, it was in career mode. But I still think he's lying.

So his career tracklist shows a score for DragonForce?
