My mom.

Er

Finished Hero 30 and Hero 300 in Half-Minute Hero.  Just have to do retro Evil Lord 30 and Princess 30 and whatever other retro modes there are.  Ridiculously fun little RPG here.

I think I'm liking it. Enjoying the characters and dialogue, the gameplay style is kind of neat as well. For the record, playing on casual mode, so I dread ever playing the other Fire Emblem games if I ever do, I'll probably have to emulate and save state so I don't lose anyone. :heh:

Yeah this Fire Emblem is wonderful for having the Casual mode to play in, I did play on it as well I just wanted to play the game and enjoy it. I just hated when the others games you let one person die they are gone forever and then you always have to reset and load if you want to keep that person, I've done that one to many times with the GBA games... <.<

Anyways Enjoy it TS its one hell of a game extremely addicting nothing like a good tactical RPG.

Yeah, the casual mode of Awakening will probably be the reason I get it.  It really should be named something like "fair" mode or "no-bullshit-here" mode.  You can't really plan a strategy around where you don't know new units will come in from, unless you've played the chapter before or at least reset after someone died.  That kind of gameplay works better for Advance Wars, where your units are faceless mooks, and not complicated people that each have their own story.  Every time a unit has died, all I've ever done is reset the game, rather than advance.  This does not make for a good difficulty, just a frustrating one.  There are other tactical RPGs that don't do the perma-death thing, and the games are still difficult, just without making you tear your hair out all the time.  I honestly can't go back to any other Fire Emblem game, though, because of this.

That's where I think Valkyria Chronicles handles permadeaths better. VC plays almost like Fire Emblem with the addition of third person shooting elements. There are permadeaths in VC, but it's a lot more forgiving than in Fire Emblem. If a unit gets KO'ed in VC, the only way it could be a permadeath is if either the enemy walks next to them and confirms the kill or if nobody calls in a medic within a certain number of turns.

And also, aren't surprise reinforcements supposed to be part of building a strategy? I always thought that was part of the challenge in strategy games and it requires you to always think ahead and consider the worst case scenarios in battle. If a unit dies, you have no one to blame but yourself. Well, if anyone complained about Radiant Dawn's unbalanced difficulty, then I can see where people are coming from.

You only have yourself to blame, it couldn't possibly be bad game design.

There are times where it happens in the most absolutely ridiculously spots of the map, where there's not even a single HINT that units might come from that location.  Planning ahead is one thing, and being a future psychic is another.

Yep, in battle, only you yourself can be preemptive and not the enemies.

Persona 3 is getting on my nerves, Working my way though the dungeon and made it floor 56 and then I got attacked my a shadow and the enemies used Bufula on me which my persona was weak too, and it was a never ending onslaught of attacks and finally I died, and when I reloaded I forgot to save and I'm right back to start of the 3rd section...

This game is severely starting to piss me off.  :aggravated:

Trust me, it's very easy to grind in this game than in Persona 4. Make sure you keep getting the extra EXP during shuffles and try to fuse better Personas. Yes it's a bit difficult in the beginning before you get Fuuka to join your party, but as you advance through the game, it actually gets a lot easier. And also, I highly recommend training Personas with  <3's in their stats. Once they learn all their skills, they give you a very useful item. For example if you have Thor and made him learn all available moves, he will give you an item that will make a character immune to electricity which is very useful for Yukari. And BTW, when you defeat the Reaper, you will unlock an additional section and from there you can very easily level up to 99.

Thanks for the info Dawnlight!, Anyways progress report finally come down off my rage quit last night and got to floor 59 and beat the boss.

And then went through another fullmoon boss in the Lover's Hotel... the bosses was kinda a let down for sure, I didn't even have to do anything except attack, but I have to say that was a weird dungeon... Though nothing that made me go "OMGWTF" or have I yet to witness it?.

Koromaru is okay, but he eats a lot of MP fast. The OMGWTF moment that I thought was the shower scene. I thought it was random to have an anime cutscene like that.

I got further into Tales of Xillia....here's a video from my experience so far. I think I'm almost at halfway. I'm thoroughly enjoying it. If Ventus only had a PS3.

Well, Awakening has been sucking me in. It's hard to put down, there's a lot of layers to the game and it's just really fun. I only just completed chapter ten, most of my time has been spent grinding for items or skills, namely in EXPonential Growth since I bought the Golden Pack. :heh:

Haven't touched Uprising in a couple days, played a little Mass Attack last night, closing in on the end of Skyward Sword; should have my final chronicle up tonight, hopefully.

Oh that scene that was pretty surprising, I'm glad that they didn't show all of what was going on there...

And I completely agree about Koromaru he eats through is MP So damn fast I can't even keep it full.

You want to be taught about BAZONGAS?! :P j/k

I started to play a random indie game on Steam called Dear Esther. Is it just me, or is this game just a first person "platformer" where you walk and walk continuously listening to the narrator telling a story? At least the visuals look amazing.
