It was originally posted on EqDaily as a leaked song, but Hasbro had them take it down because it wasn't supposed to be made public yet. You can still find it on YouTube, though.

Can I link it?

I got a little depressed today. Then I found a few IRL brony friends. I think I've finally made it through the 5 stages of bronyhood.

For all we know, all of the ponies could be illiterate (except Twilight Sparkle and possibly Rarity). Why else would Spike have to be scribe?
It is something of a recurring theme in the series, that ponies are actually really poorly educated. Applejack's aunt and uncle's friends in Manehattan had never heard of roosters, and no one in Ponyville knew what a zebra was until Twilight came along.

I've managed to not listen to the leaked song. There's spoilers I want to hear - upcoming episode titles, descriptions - and there's things I want to discover and experience for the first time during the episodes. I'm filing this song under the latter category.

I'm still contemplating what my avatar should be. I still haven't seen the "stages of bronydom" but I doubt they'll make a difference. It is what it is. But my overall preference for avatar is kinda ... restrictive.

I mean, for the love of all things crunchy and delicious, this and this are my ideal candidates. It's horrible, but they evoke the most emotion out of what I've seen, so I can do no better at the moment. ... and I'm still looking for more. Goodness. >.<

Denial- I couldn't believe that the show is actually good. I remembered how awesome Foster's Home was, so I watched it instead. A month passed.
Anger- One of my brony friends probes my interests based on a video I liked on youtube. I threatened him, then he revealed he had seen all the episodes.
Bargaining- This was really meta for me. "what if I don't go through depression?" and "maybe I'll feel better if I tell people"
Depression- Self-explanatory. Lasted a couple days.
Acceptance- I logged into Facebook and started shooting messages at potential bronies. I found 5 already-bronies and felt better.

What the f... I went through all that within five minutes after watching like four episodes.

This stuff is easy. Closed minds are hard. @ @.

But nobody would mind if I had either of those two previously linked-to images as an avatar, would they? I don't want to offend anyone by introducing such an opposing emotion to the expected spirit of the show as it permeates bronydom.

EDIT: Nevermind. I compromised.

I...don't think I actually went through any of them. Although I'm still not entirely sure on exactly what each phase is. Could you please give me a thorough explanation of each? That would be much appreciated.

Well, I just heard the leaked MLP song...

It's GODLY...

I suppose I can't link directly to it, but if you haven't heard it it's called "Smile, Smile, Smile" and you can find it on YouTube. For now.

It's absolutely god-like...and I'll take this opportunity to plug my fanfic - listen to it while reading "Pretty in Pink". Maximum b'awwwww factor...

So, wait, this is a song in an upcoming episode, right?

Lessee. Copied from here.

(note: some of these stages may be skipped, and any of them can last for any amount of time, even I spent a year on stage 1 and 2.)
In this you will see the 5 stages of brony development, as implied by the title.
Stage one: denial
At this point the person is thinking something like "My little pony? No way, people can't like something like this." they think 1 of 2 things, of which they will continue to thinking to the end end of stage 2, and possibly part of stage 3, they think either 1, the show is god awful, or two it is just for girls, or possibly both.
Stage two: anger
"WHAT?!?! People actually LIKE this stuff?" at this point he is very ticked off at his friends for saying things like "Hey, a new episode of my little pony is on, wanna watch it?" that he goes into the part wherehe trolls, flames, and essentally gets people saying "umadbro?" to him.
Stage three: bargaining
At this point the pre-brony is so ticked off at his friends that he finally watches an episode just to get his friends to shut up about it.
Stage 4: Depression
At this point the pre-brony is a semi-fan, he watches the show and draws fan art, but if anyone comes into the room he simply closes the tab or scribbles out whatever he was drawing. He begins thinking "Why do I watch this show? And even more, why do I like it? What is wrong with me?" of course, fellow bronies are there to cheer him up, which leads to...
Stage five: acceptance
"You know what? My Little Pony is awesome! Brohoof, anyone?" At this point the person is a brony, and immune to all the soon to be bronies and brony haters.

(Note; Brony means a male fan of the show, as implied by urban dictionary)
NO TL;DR

... ... yeeeaaah, ... breezed through all the stages in half a day.

About that last note, most female fans of the show I know prefer to be called bronies as well.

Also, I'm actually trying to make that sound. It's really hard for males to do it. X x. I just find it to be the cutest sound I've ever heard, besides ... um ... ... almost anything else whatsoever Fluttershy ever says or does. o.o
