I probably won't even go for this.

Hell, my SM race attempt ended in failure. And I'm not a Kirby guy... so I pass.

But I'm interested in seeing the streams at least :D

I'd be down with a Kirby Super Star race! It's one of my favorite games. Would it be a full game race, though? I think the entire game can be beaten in like 4 hours, but part of that depends on knowing where everything is.

Also, when would this be going on? If we're talking Saturday or Sunday evening I'm completely game.

I remember the game going pretty quick. If we just do the required sub games (Spring Breeze, Dyna Blade, Great Cave Offensive, Revenge of Meta Knight and Milky Way Wishes) I think a four hour time frame would be pretty manageable, and pretty fun/frantic if we can get the netplay component functional.

From what I heard on the chat, I think this is going to be a Saturday evening race.

Kirby Super Star Race

Saturday 2/8 - Meeting up at around 7-8 PM Eastern Time

Goal (?): Get through Spring Breeze, Dyna Blade, Great Cave Offensive, Revenge of Meta Knight, and finally Milky Way Wishes.

You also might get some sweet bragging rights if you find the Triforce in Great Cave Offensive (kind of like saving the animals in Super Metroid), but that isn't a goal so much (unless you want to be a real PureZC member :-P ). The Triforce is in the tall vertical room with a bunch of springs directly before the final boss power up room. (The video is the DS version, but it should be the same on the SNES)

I haven't checked the goal with many people yet, so it could change if people are feeling up for something else? I'm also not absolutely sure on the requirements to unlock Milky Way Wishes, so I'd appreciate it if someone could confirm if you need to beat Gourmet Race or not for the SNES version. The goal as it is may seem a bit daunting, but keep in mind each game is rather short.

If you want to buddy up with someone for netplay as a race team, definitely go for it since I think team races would be more interesting. I have a feeling we'll be taking time trying to get netplay organized and set up for those wanting to do it, so definitely try to meet up earlier than later if you can since it would be easier to get netplay setup out of the way before we start.

If you play everything in order, you'll unlock all of those levels. I personally think we should include The Arena, since it's arguably the hardest part of the game, but I'm completely okay with this setup. I should be available for this and am looking forward to it!

(I'm fine with netplay and am willing to team up with anyone, also!)

I love the idea of what you everyone are doing here. Great way to have some fun together too :D
For me, there are a few problems though. First off I can't talk english :P. At least not in a way, someone with english as their first language could. Then, there's the problem with the recording/twitch stuff. My PC is too low that. Furthermore, the times you are usually doing the races are always in mid-night and later, for me.
Finally, this next game you are doing here is something I haven't played. I did never really play a kirby game longer than 20 minutes. For some reason, they don't entertain me. :O

Don't worry, when I join for races, they are usually 2pm EST, which is like 7pm here and 8pm there. :D

Oh and btw, you'll most likely need to ask for an earlier time if you ever want to take part in a race. At least... that's how I did it.

I don't know that you've heard how bad some of us speak English despite only knowing that. :P (okay by us I mean me)

In all honestly, you don't have to say much, or anything at all to participate in these events. Timezones do get a bit funky but everyone does a good job of trying to include as many people as possible. If you were to participate in a race, what times would work best for you?

Gah. Apparently in addition to the usual subgames, you need to win all three courses of Gourmet Race against Dedede as well in order to unlock Milky Way Wishes.

Eh, Gourmet Race is probably the quickest subgame there anyway, and I don't remember it being too difficult (though the fact that you need to win all three courses might lead to a little bit of difficulty). But worst comes to worst, it's probably like a five to ten minute detour.

EDIT: Well, college intervened, and I'm probably not going to be able to race tomorrow. Ah, well.

Here's the race results:

1st: SpacemanDan

2nd: DCEnygma

3rd: Nick & the bees

DNF: Russ

It was definitely fun and it was overall a pretty close race (except where I got lost horribly in Milky Way Wishes)! I'm looking forward to the next race! :)

Oh dear god... XD

Looks like you guys had a great race! Well, I'll possibly organise the next race sometime in the future (date still not decided)

I got plans for a Z1 2nd Quest race, just want some thoughts if we should do this or not? Race will be Any%, F6/Save Trick allowed, uncapping not allowed, basically the same rules as the 1st Quest I did quite a while back.
