yeah the game gets worse, glad you stopped earlier. Level 7 has batrobes and Level 8(Lab 64) has a hookshot maze with pits that fall down to a sewer, and the lab is filled with bats and one-way, you screwed yourself, paths.

The plan for tonight is to begin the Mega Man sessions tonight (with Scootaloo) at the usual 9:30pm EST start time. It's possible that something might come up last minute with that though, and if that happens, then I'll probably throw something else on instead and start the Mega Man series tomorrow.
Also, I moved the Thursday night streams out a week and there will be no Thursday night stream this week because of this. Which, really, if you're looking to be entertained then watching the Mystery Science Theater 3000 guys riff over a movie like Sharknado is full of win.

Dr. Wily's Revenge wasn't that great a game, I mean it was a decent Game Boy translation, but nothing special. ![]()
For a skilled player, you could beat each Megaman game in the amount of time DCE's streams normally take. So I don't see this series taking too long to complete.

I can only assume that you're going to finish up the Megaman series with undoubtedly the greatest Megaman game ever made, Dr. Wily's Revenge. This is in fact the case, correct?
We are no longer friends.

I think the bolded part speaks for itself.
I do plan on doing Bananas and Promised Lands soon, but after 3 months straight of one single ZC quest (and then another really terrible one as well) I wanted a bit of a break from it. Figured this would be a really fun thing to do instead.

I will try to keep the "Thanks Obama" jokes to a minimum. "Try" is the key word here. ![]()
Nah, but I've been looking forward to this. I can't wait to critically analyze your playing and be like "C'mon, you mean you can't beat Ice Man's stage without the Magnet Bar?" *runs*

Will you be playing any fan made games, say MMxSF?
#174
Posted 07 July 2014 - 03:49 PM
Yes, actually. My plan as of right now is to play MM1-6, then to play the 8bit versions of 7 and 8, since I've never played them before and I'm not a huge fan of the actual 7 or 8. Maybe I'll tack MMxSF on the end also, since I've never played that one.
I would play 9 and 10, but Capcom is a butt and they aren't on PC. Maybe I'll go back and play them whenever I get a capture card.

You may want to pay attention to the password screens for the 8-bit MM8 if you get a game over (if this is the MM8 remake I'm thinking about). In the fortress stages, I think the password screen for a game over defaults to an option that basically boots you out of Wily's castle entirely and you have to start over from the first stage of it.
Edit:
If it's what I'm thinking it is, the options are Stage Select and Continue. You'd want to pick Continue... which isn't selected by default unless that was fixed.

I totally understand that. And I'm happy you're doing this because that gives me and Moosh time to get off our lazy butts and actually finish the update to Bananas.I do plan on doing Bananas and Promised Lands soon, but after 3 months straight of one single ZC quest (and then another really terrible one as well) I wanted a bit of a break from it. There better be lots of Obama thanking during MM2 Wily 4.I will try to keep the "Thanks Obama" jokes to a minimum. "Try" is the key word here.
Dolphin can emulate them, and given that they're practically just NES games, it can handle them pretty well even if your PC can't normally emulate Wii games. You could give that a go.I would play 9 and 10, but Capcom is a butt and they aren't on PC. Maybe I'll go back and play them whenever I get a capture card.

Confirming the Dolphin emulation. Your machine's pretty solid from what I've seen so you should have less trouble than me, I only got occasional slowdowns from certain enemies or parts of a level and it was barely noticeable anyway.
