Peach is one of my best characters, actually, so this is a good update for me.  I mean, I *knew* she'd make it into the game, but it's nice to see.

And yeah, probably Chrom.  I haven't played FE:A outside of the demo, but yeah, he was definitely the poster boy for the game.  Not that I don't like your idea, Dawnlight- I think it's a really good idea, I just don't see Nintendo doing it.

Another possibility is to give class changing abilities to Chrom. :P Other than that, chances are Chrom will replace Ike in the next Smash Bros. Ike was cool, but WAY TOO OVERPOWERED!

Are you sure he was overpowered? Or did you just happen to keep walking into his attacks? :P

I only played casually (usually 3-4 person battles) and was actually shocked that Meta Knight is considered OP, since it was always Ike that seemed the most broken. He always felt like he had massive amounts of range on his attacks. The Starfox characters were also frustrating just because of their super moves. Other than those, the game never really felt unfair.

Well, that's a fancy dress. ... that's all I really have to say. Still wishing to see new characters... well, more new ones. And yeah, we'll probably get Chrom, and, if we're lucky...

Awakening spoilers

I thought about the Avatar thing, jokingly suggesting you could just create your Awakening Avatar and let him loose. Actually even though I couldn't care less about the Villager I kind of hoped the same would be possible with him, but whatever.

I, too, don't get how Meta Knight is considered OP. His attacks were really fast, but they did very little damage and I felt he had trouble launching foes away. He has great recovery in being able to glide around the stage, but I felt that was really limited as that also cancels your UP+B recovery move, a limitation that got me killed several times. He was also light, making it easy to send him flying off the stage. If Meta Knight was as OP as everyone considers him to be, I would be winning all of the time because he is my favorite character. I only end up winning about half of the time against my brother, who constantly used "weaker" characters like Ike and Link and occasionally as Pit, who he wins nearly all of the time with. I can agree with Pit being in a high tier because of his excellent recovery and great all-round abilities, but not with Meta Knight's ban because he has poor attack power, limited recovery (despite his ability to glide over the stage), poor selection of launching attacks and light weight.

People who argue that Meta knight isn't broken either play as Metaknight, have never played a good Meta knight player, or both.

I'm REALLY glad that Peach is in the game as she is my main character. I never really considered her not making it, but I'm still glad she did. I hope I get to play the game though. I don't own a Wii U and am not buying it for one game. :(

More info for people who are still skeptical that Meta Knight is broken:

"Meta Knight is notable for being at the top of the Super Smash Bros. Brawl tier list due to the very high speed of his attacks, having many attacks with transcending priority, many recovery options that grant him a long, relatively safe and unpredictable recovery, effective wall of pain options, KO moves that are both agile and reliable, and incredible matchups; Meta Knight has no overall disadvantageous matchups along with three other characters from the Smash series (Pikachu, Fox, and Falco), and currently only Pikachu is considered to have an even matchup with him."

"Meta Knight has been ranked 1st on the tier list since a few months after the game's release, although some players believed Snake was the best character. However, as Brawl's metagame evolved, his advantages in combat became more prominent, and Meta Knight mains such as Mew2King began dominating tournaments; as a result, Meta Knight was considered the undisputed best character, and has consistently held the top spot, commonly in his own tier above the rest of the cast. Meta Knight has won over three times more money in tournaments than the second most successful character, Snake."

As far as MetaKnight goes, why don't YOU try playing a proficient MK main as a low tier and watch how much you struggle. :P I've fought a couple proficient MetaKnight players here with my Link and, even though I beat them, I had to be constantly on my toes as one false move would land me being juggled to the top of the screen and star KOed at 40% or less. OR I would be off-stage and gimped because his recovery allowed him to push me away from the stage while he landed safely.

Since I have no footage, I'll just have to use another smasher's videos. (This is Izaw's video)

And this is Mew2king and 9B

As far as Ike being OP, I have to disagree. I have faced many Ike players and seen them struggle when under pressure. Plus, most of Ike's attacks are slow enough to counter before they even strike.

See, that's why I prefaced my statements with the fact that I only play casually. :P I also don't follow the competitive scene. As a result, that's why it surprised me. None of the people I play SSB with are going to be looking into all these details. I'm by no means discrediting what you're saying, but in my experience, none of that really matters to people who just casually play the game with friends.

You're right, if you play casually the tiers don't really matter. With exceptions like Ganondorf against Meta Knight, the tiers are only applicable about competitive play.

I wasn't trying to really prove a point or anything. :P Just wanted to share some things and offer up my knowledge on the subject. I know about casual play, but yeah, I was merely posting for educational purposes. No harm meant. :)

Exactly. You probably won't see people playing like this unless they are competitive. :P I was just merely posting for educational purposes as previously stated. :)

I got a question.

Is Dark Samus (Metroid Prime) going to be in this game? I've tried looking it up, and I'm seeing mostly fan made speculations, though some more convincing than others, but I have yet to see an actual real screenshot or video confirmation.

Now some people may say "who cares", but for some reason, I would play this game just to try the character out. lol

That would be nice, Metroid has only had 1 character in Smash Bros so far. (Not counting Zero Suit Samus)

She'll probably just get a costume change like in Brawl. It would be cool if she got her own moveset though. She was bombin' in MP3: Corruption. :(

@Mr. Z That's exactly what I was thinking. Throughout the Smash Bros series, there was a huge neglect on characters from Samus' universe. (Outside that of bosses or other appearances.

Dark Samus (Metroid Prime) became such a great antogonist of the franchise that even though Retro Studios has abandoned when they ended the series, Nintendo cannot ignore the strong impression this character has made, and in many ways successfully became the most fitting villain in the Metroid universe, probably second to Ridley though. (And certainly the best doppelgänger type foe).

Chances are, her character would be built similar to that of Samus, much like any new character built in the likeness of another already existing character. Because you know, Ganondorf is just like Capt. Falcon.
