So, that weird... thing is an electric type. Okay then... doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but then again, neither did Zekrom being electric, really. And the bird using fire moves... I'm starting to wonder if this game's gonna be really screwy with the typing now.

The graphics still look blocky and pixelated, but I can't say I really expect much more from their first full 3D badge-collecting game.

I must be blind, because I saw absolutely no pixelation or blockiness.

I see what he means, but I think it's mostly negligible, and most of the time 3DS trailers don't really accurately reflect the actual in-game graphics anyway, so we'll probably be good by time the game actually comes out.

I personally think the trailer is pretty solid. Sure the 3D looks a bit clunky, but I'm glad Game Freak is actually trying to push 3D into Pokemon. I've become very tired of sprite-based Pokemon games since HG/SS. Primarily because it's becoming too repetitive regardless of how much quality each Pokemon game has. That's probably my thoughts on most Nintendo games really.

One still has to wonder....if the game is fully 3D now...why the HELL are they still fighting in discs?

And why are there health bars? They are so last year.

It's kinda like asking why did Link kept his green tunic when Zelda converted to 3D.

If you take out the discs, then it doesn't really look any different than Pokemon Stadium/Colosseum/XD/Battle Revolution. It's just a difference in perspective. In fact, I absolutely hated how attacks were executed in Battle Revolution because of how bad quality it was. The X and Y battles don't look too bad. It definitely outshines BR from what I have seen. I'm a little curious how they are going to pull off Double, Triple, and Rotation battles with this setup. Anyone ever tried 3 Wailords vs 3 Wailords in BW? :P

Is this a bad thing? I really wish Nintendo would just drop the 8 gyms, elite 4, champion formula they've been using since the beginning of time and make another Pokemon like Colosseum/XD...

Aren't Game Freak the developers though?  :P

But yeah, it's getting stale slowly. Just like the Mario formula.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! Black and White at least tried to focus on story, but I would definitely want X and Y to try even harder on that. In fact, it would be cool if the entire game was only focused on story first and then go for badges after you beat the game.

It's not even close to asking something like that.  To begin with, the discs didn't even come until Gen 3, and only served to have some sort of background instead of just a blank screen (GB/GBC).  With fully 3D battle environments as shown here, they're absolutely unnecessary and look out of place.  Like someone got in their tractor and starting doing a bunch of donuts or something.

I don't think you get what I'm saying though. The discs are apart of Pokemon to the point where it's now tradition (and honestly, so what if they started in Gen 3, most Zelda traditional elements came from aLttP, the third Zelda game). And don't get me wrong, I'm not saying they look good but I imagine it's better than a blank green field.
