I don't know how to feel about this. I'm not terribly excited, but eh, I'll play it. I'm a little iffy on the train, but if it replaces sailing, it can't be that bad.
I'd like to see a new game that doesn't relate to Wind Waker, though... as much as I did enjoy it.

I really won't complain as long as there are explorable areas outside of the dungeons OFF the train. I mean...the videos don't express anything as such, while the PH trailers did...
Yes, but when Phantom Hourglass came out, sailing in Zelda was no longer a new thing. Now we have a train, and it's Wind Waker all over again because we've got a new mode of transportation to see. If I recall, the WW trailers didn't show much of the actual exploring part.
However, if it IS Wind Waker all over again, it'll probably be my second most favorite game of all time.

It's a Zelda game. It'll be good. Besides, Nintendo's really only been developing it for a year (or just over). Think of it as an appetizer for a console game.
Technically, I think Phantom Hourglass would count as an appetizer (and a test-run for a DS Zelda). Spirit Tracks should be an improvement over PH based on that. (And I enjoyed PH... for a one-time play. I like the multiplayer mode, though.) Plus, I'm not sure how development works, but PH came out in autumn 2007- so if Nintendo started on Spirit Tracks immediately, that puts us at two years. Not sure, though.

Plus, there's Adventure of Link. It has its lovers and haters, which just goes to show that "good" is a matter of opinion. I know people who hate Wind Waker. I know one person in particular who hates OoT... *runs frm Prospekt*
Still, though, when it comes down to it, I have to admit that every Nintendo-licensed Zelda game (that I've played) is good. Even AoL, though I don't like it.

It's a Zelda game. It'll be good.
I have to disagree with that logic. A particular series that is notorious for being good doesn't necessarily mean that every game is good. Of course, opinions vary, but you can't assume that it'll be amazing simply because it's a Zelda game.
Going back there so much and repeating it was a constant pain in the butt, IMO. But that's just me. Despite the shortcuts, it got annoying.
Eh, after going through the temple two or three times, it's easy to find a sort of rhythm and be able to complete each part of the dungeon rather quickly. It was tedious, though, to have to go through floors you've already beaten and essentially beat them again.

I suppose we can dream...
What does this even mean? You are aware that they are working on a Zelda Wii, right? There was a picture of it.

Right. Console Zelda games may be a big deal, but they're just an eventuality. The presence of a Zelda title is never unexpected.
