Actually, though few know this, it is. The term "Conservative" actually comes from a form of Christianity practiced in the 1600 (I don't recall how long before and after that it was practiced) in which the family would try to spend little to no money on luxuries; they did it for the sake of discipline, as well as to keep from running low on money so that they could always put food on the table. Since then the term has become a misnomer, applying to *some politicians* who own 14 cars and 8 houses.
This is also why some recipies will say "sprinkle with *name an ingredient* liberally". As liberal is the opposite of conservative, liberal means that you use lots and don't worry about running out.
