The bright red rails literally kill the dark feel it's trying to give. Also, Why is there a fairy statue in the bottom corner? o-o Like I mean is it there for a reason?

Also, a custom subscreen would be nice~

Also, Link's position on the Dmap is a little... out of this world~

Thanks for your input, I was experimenting with the red borders. I should also look at removing that fairy statue. I was going for the arcane look.

Also, what I said about the custom subscreens was only ment for SotW/SR/SC:CA, and not the critique thread! icon_xd.gif Just clearing things up. This is not SotW yet, so no custom subscreen or proper map yet.

It all looks great, but the Triforce symbols on the wall look slightly off. I mean, the entire room gives off the dark mysterious feel to it, but the symbols look very bright, almost to where they seem to be giving off light themselves. Do you have the space in the tileset to make extra floor tiles that look like there's light shining on them from the Triforce symbols? If you can do that, then remove the wall torches since they won't really look like they're needed. If you can't, or don't want to, then maybe tone down the colors on those symbols.

Nice, crisp and clean and you (unintetionally) used a little-known trick in DoR to make it as if you used new floor tiles underneath the borders when you really used existing tiles. I don't think it needs any more detail or any of that matter.

GB screens. In prep for SotW, again. I can't decide wherether which screen has the correct stairs setup. Which one's got the correct stairs setup?

Thanks ! I agree with your screen, except the cracks seem too patterned, but maybe that's just me, I'm not all that good with gb it seems.

Orin XD: According to OoS the top one. Source. Also, now that is a nice screen. Hm, but a little to grey? Try making the pots, floor and statues brown.

This screen took me quite a while to get it how I wanted it haha.
A screen from SkyCastle, also generally how the halls in it will look:

Carpet can use some work. Also Sky Castle? Surely you can come up with better names then that! icon_razz.gif

Not "Sky Castle", but "SkyCastle". Get it right, for crying out loud, it's not that hard!

Seriously though, the name may be sort of odd, but it really shouldn't be that much of a problem. You ever played Mega Man Battle Network? Amazing game, but since the main area was DenTech City (sort of), every area had "Den" at the beginning of the name. The internet areas were just as bad, starting every name with "Net". It still didn't detract any from the game, just made it a little hard to take seriously.

But I'm starting to get off topic, here. I like the picture, but if you're not going to have diagonal carpet tiles, then straighten out the walls a bit. I mean, you wouldn't honestly put such a jagged carpet in your home like that now, would you.

That entire series was an absolute clusterf#ck, especially in terms of grammar. I don't know if it was just the development team or what. Anyway it's probably the last game on earth you want to try to follow suit for. If I were reviewing, I would rate MMBN down for its atrocious english (or rather "engrish"), as well as any other game, including yours. Just something to think about.

Isn't that kind of unfair considering that some people don't have English as their main language?

@Jay: I'm not a fan of the curtains on the walls - their colours just don't look right. Try making a copy of them and then editing the colours so they look better. The carpet can use a little work, but DoR didn't come with much for the carpets, so I can't blame you for that.

@Rambly and Schwa: I believe we are getting a bit off topic here. We should stop discussing about MM: BN here before it gets out of hand.

And you should stop rent-a-modding. Let the staff do their job. Just because we don't do something about it immediately doesn't mean we're never going to.

Isn't that kind of unfair considering that some people don't have English as their main language?

This is relevant. It is a review from Poke, of a ZC quest made by CastChaos, who speaks Hungarian as his first language and English as his second. Grammar problems were rampant. Perhaps he couldn't have helped it, perhaps he did the best he could, but even so, it hurt his game. A couple of options he had were to hire a proofreader (most people from this site would have been glad to, especially since CC seems to have a bit of a fan-following from the looks of it), or to design a gameplay-centric Quest without a lot of "important" dialogue (these more-or-less are Poke's words that I'm parroting).

And these are all regarding some guy's Legend of Zelda fangame. People would look at this and easily forgive it, compared to a professional and widely-sold video game from Capcom of all companies, a multi-million dollar "big-wig" company in the gaming industry (they gave us MegaMan and Street Fighter for God sakes, if you've never heard of Capcom I'd think you live in a cave). There ought to be zero excuses for something like that from them. Zero.

And as for Jay's sense of the English language, well, he's fluent enough to post in these forums and we can understand him without stretching our brains, so if he can do that here, he can do that in his Quest. And if he can't, he can do what CC ought to have done, or some similar option to compensate for his weaknesses. People who are bad with graphics can get help, people who are bad with scripts can get a scripter (just look at how Sheik and blue_knight's Zelda: Ancient, or Migokalle and Plissken's LoZ: Tone of Voice is turning out icon_smile.gif ), and of course EVERYONE ought to get beta testers to catch bugs from a non-designer's perspective. So, if someone needs a dialogue proofreader, or even a downright translator (wasn't it Avataro's quests which are fully in German and he went and got a translator to release English versions? Or was that someone else?), there is absolutely no shame in it.

I know my ZC lore, guys, and I know game design. You can come to me with questions, though I may not be some ZC God or anything, but don't assume I'm just some dumb troll, there's a point to everything I say.
