Personally I don't mind either way if we establish spoiler free (or tag) zone or not. But if we are taking votes then yes, I'd like this to be spoiler free.

I doubt it will come to it that spoiler tags will be disallowed, (I also doubt anyone even mentioned it for me to think of it to say it. o.O' Derp.) Though I was thinking more in the way of suggestions, that if a person forgets, in their enthusiasm, to post something in a spoiler, it could be forgiven or ignored.

Maybe nobody should post a preview of the next episode, and leave it at that? Then, if we all have an episodal release schedule, we can just not check the thread until we've seen the episode, then spoilers will be okay, because hopefully, everyone will have seen the episode if they care enough to know the schedule. Anyone who doesn't want spoilers, just may care enough for that.

... Ew. In a perfect world, someone would be on the staff because they have the personality to handle a situation in the proper way that would make the greatest number of people happy without upsetting any delicate social ecosystem. Alas, such a way of life is not yet the way of things, so we have to resort to the "put up or shut up" method sometimes. If that's the way it has to be for any particular case, it might put out a fire, but it doesn't stop the fuse from growing short.

I'm just saying, I've been on the wrong end of this discussion before. The last time I called TS anything along the lines of "a troll", the result wasn't pretty. The fire of the issue got drowned in turpentine, basically.

I'm sure there's something I'm missing here, otherwise I know you wouldn't have said it, but is it ever a good idea to call someone a troll, even if they are one? No offense, obviously; just not sure how to phrase it. Two wrongs don't make a right. As cliche as it is, be the change you want to see. Our point is to continue here in peace. Any way that we can do that, is a beautiful thing sirs and ma'ams.

We likely ought to return to the point of the topic very soon. I saw an image that made me afraid. Very afraid.

I say what I feel is necessary. If I make a mistake and I realize it, I take it back. Or I trust the other staffers to disagree or inject their differing opinion. I'm not gonna drag it any further, and I also try not to respond to any personal attacks to myself unless it sparks something out of hand and I have no choice; regardless, what's done is done, it's time to move on. Also this has been playing in the background since before I made that last post. Not sure why that matters.

After all this I feel like I owe a favor. So I might watch episode five. MIGHT. No guarantees. I got a driver's test to prepare for and a Sonic Generations to hype up in the next few days so I might be busy.

EDIT: TS, if you're going to keep watching...(I'm going to resist the urge to hug you right now)...at least give it until episode 7. If you're leaning towards Fluttershy as fav, episode 7 is definitely one you want to see. BUT DON'T SKIP THE REST! Episode 5 reasserts that, and episode 6 puts everything in perspective.

Okay, as a person who didn't want to watch originally, but later went on to watch every episode, ... well, first of all, that alone is a fairly decent indicator that it's a great show. I barely even watch Anime, yo. I ate this show up.

Please do watch at least five episodes. If you enjoyed Azumanga Daioh, you'll love this show. This show pulls out all the stops. They're not afraid to do something incredibly unpony like, while in a pony world, to get things done.

Also, as was stated above, anything Fluttershy says that isn't a word, is automatically the cutest thing you'll see all week.

You won't believe what just happened today. There is this girl that I was her boyfriend for almost a whole school year, we broke up only a few months before school ended... BUT ENOUGH OF THAT! I was just texting to her today, and SHE watched this EXACT SAME SHOW. It looks like I found a person that is in my state that is a GIRL that watched that show... I find it weird too...

Well dammit. I was just about to make a huge post here, but I was an idiot and forgot you can only copy-paste on thing at a time. And when I say huge, I mean really huge. No seriously, it put a scrolling bar in the text box, it was that long. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to make a shortened version.

So, basically, last night, I was thinking about the show when suddenly, Fridge Logic occured. I realized that, considering the amount of fillies and colts who are actual characters, as opposed to being background ponies, there is a surprising lack of actual characters who are parents. It's possible that this is all just a case of Invisible Parents, (Yes I did just post a link to two seperate TV Tropes pages in one post.) but then there's the fact that this also seems to apply to most of the main cast in Episode 23, The Cutie Mark Chronicles. Where are Fluttershy's parents, and why aren't they seen? Surely they would be worried sick that their child, who isn't very good at flying, fell off the clouds? And what were Rarity's parents doing when their child got dragged away by her horn, found some percious jewels and sewed them onto some costumes for a school play? Speaking of Rarity's parents, that's another problem with this. Applejack's and Rarity's parents are never seen, not even when their children are, well, children. And yet, some amount of years later, they both have little sisters. What the hell?! Where did Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle come from, and why are they living in Ponyville when their parents evidently are not? I mean, Apple Bloom I can kinda make sense of, maybe her parents didn't want to have a child and sent her off to live with her Grandma, like they evidently did with Big Macintosh and Applejack. But why is Sweetie Belle living with her sister instead of her parents? Is it traditional that fillies and colts only live with their parents for a certain amount of time, or do ponies just have a problem preventing unwanted childbirth? And, in either case, what do they do if they are no other relatives for them to live with? Clearly, they don't look after them themselves. Who looked after Rarity when she was a filly? Who looked after Fluttershy, and Rainbow Dash? I don't know, maybe I'm just overthinking all of this, but to be honest, and I'm not trying to sound egotistical here, I kind of doubt I don't have a point. When I was thinking about this last night, I also thought about "Who looks after Scootaloo?" but that's probably just another case of Invisible Parents. (And Invisible House, it would seem.)

S2 E3 is pretty much the best episode I've seen.
Nope. It just got trumped by S2 E4.

I have insane willpower against wanting to watch shows/ read exciting books. It's why I could go for months without watching One Piece while waiting for the timeskip.

Okay, so I did as I promised and watched through episodes 5-7. And here's what I think...

Episode 5 - This totally reaffirmed my dislike for Pinkie Pie. She's... well, still incredibly annoying. Though she did attack me with my biggest comedic weakness: The fake glasses with the fake nose and mustache. I can't even explain it but those get to me EVERY TIME. Like this:

Okay so I admit Gilda needed to get b****-slapped (especially when she got all up in Fluttershy's face (yes I think I'm developing an attachment to her)) and I admired Pinkie Pie's persistence but she was still annoying, and the rest of the episode was pretty predictable, so... Nothing special about this one.

Episode 6 - ... it opened with a random mustache. I think this show is desperately trying to appeal to me. But the horse puns got horrid and I realized it was a FUTILE GESTURE!!! ... anyways... Trixie is a b**** and I wanted to see her taken down but didn't the last episode involve a b**** that needed to be b****-slapped? And like Episode 5 reaffirmed my annoyance with Pinkie Pie, it strongly reinforced my hatred of Rarity. Then again I hate snobby characters that are all about fashion in general. Although the part about green hair got a laugh out of me. As did the Ursa Minor's goofy smile. But the plot... was completely predictable yet again, and they took a good thing (the random mustaches) and ruined the joke. And I'm getting tired of these letters to Celestia. But seriously, THEY RUINED A GAG I LOVE TO DEATH. I MEAN LOOK AT THIS FOR EXAMPLE:



THAT IS AN AWESOME RANDOM MUSTACHE (and ironically the episode revolved around a seahorse which is close to ponies I guess). But I guess I can commend the episode for not having Pinkie Pie but it loses points for no Fluttershy.

Episode 7 - Opens with Fluttershy, this is good so far... ... and that rabbit was awesome. Also Rainbow Dash's stripes she painted on her face look like bacon. I approve. ... anyways, as for the episode itself, it was much better than any of the others I saw. Up until a certain point and it started to regress again. I blame Pinkie Pie and Rarity; I can't stand them and I honestly think if they were taken out of the show I could probably enjoy it. But... the plot got predictable again, and I'm not sure whether to treat the giant sleeping dragon on a pile of gold as a ripoff of or homage to Smaug in The Hobbit. Although when he started to cry it was funny. Otherwise, it was an okay episode... definitely not one that can draw me into the series. Especially since Pinkie Pie and Rarity are still there.

Well, guess that's it then: The show officially isn't for me. Yes, I solidified Fluttershy as a likable character, Pinkie Pie and Rarity as incredibly annoying and need to go, and the rest as "meh" characters, and that's... probably about as far as I'll get. But at least I gave it a fair chance.
