The big brown slab of rock (I assume it's a rock?) doesn't really fit. Also, the way the mountain forms sharp edges on either side of the waterfall is slightly awkward, as does the transition from the one on the right to a straight, square section. Aside from that, I like that screen!

Note taken. I will work on the above when I have time. Thanks!

It looks good, but doesn't the MCWater use more colors than that?

Also, i'm glad you liked the tiles icon_biggrin.gif

No, that's all the colors that the MC water uses. It's from Giggidy, and he does faithful rips. Thanks! I really love the tiles you submitted!

How does this look? (Thanks Gonken for submitting those mountain edits! They make life so much easier!)

Edit: I know it could use some flowers. I kinda rushed this because I have work to do.

Great looking screen Sepulcher! icon_biggrin.gif I really think it looks splendid. Some flowers and stuff would spruce it up a tad, but either way, it's awesome!

I'd just use one style of tree in the screen to keep style clashing to a minimum. The design of the screen is nice, though.

Toying with 8-bit computer palettes (the Commodore +4 / Atari 8-bit computer line, to be specific ... this is not the 2600 or any console, so don't mix them up) so changing the colors is kind of going to be difficult (considering I'm limited to 121 different colors), but I'm just curious about how things are generally looking to people:

IPB Image
It's a window shot because hey I'm ZQuest on OS X *crashes while taking a screenshot*

It looks very, very similar to many common palettes so far. This is a good sign, I guess, that the final thing will look pretty nice and not bad ... of course, I barely have many tiles set up yet. (Just the mountains and water, thus far.)

...I probably won't use that water (I'll likely use Newfirst edges), but this is more of a color test than anything so far.

That looks pretty cool, but you didn't actually follow the graphical rules, right? 8-bit computer thingamajigs couldn't make something like that, right? I'm ending a lot of my questions in "right?" today, right?

Looks okay to me, colorwise.

It's just that the upper mountain tiles (at the top of the screen) don't look right. Color is fine, but I would fix it so it doesn't look like the bottom mountain tiles flipped upside down.

Hrm. I might just use different mountain tiles, if they look that off... these were taken straight from Descendant, and just recolored to fit such a palette. I'd like something that isn't really seen very often, though...

And no, I'm not following strict A800 rules (or things would be double-wide pixels)... just basing a set off of its overall palette. So far, it seems like a very nice palette to do things with.

Dungeon walls. Good idea or bad idea? Pay no mind to the design of the screen itself nor the subscreen. I'm just looking for opinions on whether or not these walls would be a good idea or not.

If they're okay, then I'll probably be trying to seek out more or maybe just draw up some that are similar or something.

EDIT: Also, would you believe I almost posted an image where Alice was wielding the best sword in the game? icon_xd.gif I kinda don't want to show that one yet. icon_cat.gif

It may just be me but the walls feel a little too "short." It's an interesting take on perspective though. icon_smile.gif

Hm, so this is like GB walls in RPG perspective? Interesting. If your other graphics such as trees and houses and everything also uses GB proportions mostly, than then this is pretty cool I think. If everything else is considerably taller then the dungeon will probably look/feel odd.

Top mountain shape looks a little funky... too symmetric or too pointy or something. Otherwise, looks good to me. icon_thumbsup.gif

Also, just to let you know, those curly plants that have grass growing on them are meant to be within the tall MC grass. There should be another version Gonken submitted.

I don't have much to comment on the design other then it's one of the best river screens I've seen using DoR. (if not the best)

Yea those bushes are supposed to be used in tallgrass, they work on normal grass but I think the normal ones fit better. icon_wink.gif

Not bad there, but I think that the barn clashes with the tileset. Otherwise, it's good. I would reccomend replacing the barn with one of the tMC houses. In reality, I see rather little resemblance to any area of Skyloft in SS, but it doesn't have to resemble SS in any way. 6/10.
