Donkey Kong Country Returns is pretty enjoyable so far. I kind of miss the old enemies and the charm they had to them, and the "ONK!" whenever you hurt one, but that's okay, the enemy variety here is alright. I'm on World 4, aka mine-cart heaven. It is intense. And it is awesome.

Just beat Dust: An Elysian Tail. Best 15 bucks I've spent in years. Go play it now.
That game looks pretty sweet!, I'll have to see if I can pick it up at some point.
I'll Probable play it on my friends computer since he access steam, if only I can talk him into to buying it. <.<

Final Fantasy: Four Heroes of Light.
Such a strange little game ... Very charming in the way it mimics old school RPGs. But it definitely seems another game where they slapped Final Fantasy's title and in-game names onto an unrelated game for marketing reasons. It's got a lot of really unique and clever ideas, and a bizarre leveling system that means you access a super hard mode just by leveling up -- enemies level with you, and outpace you in the end, leading to potentially unwinnable scenarios unless you do some very specific stuff to boost your stats further than leveling allows. It's not a fantastic game, but I'm enjoying it immensely, and I'm fascinated by all its oddities.

I recently downloaded and played the demo of a 3DS game called The Denpa Men from the Nintendo EShop. Played through the demo and I enjoyed it. At the moment, the all I can say (without tripping up and barfing all over you with a horrible description) is that it reminds me of Lufia II, a lot (that is, without all of the difficult puzzles).
Edit: I really should go back to playing Mega Man 4, but I'm too lazy for that...

Curious if you've tried multiplayer. You should see pretty quickly how they messed that aspect up in comparison to the SNES games. In some levels you have a shared pool of health so if one player sucks and takes a lot of damage you'll both end up dead. Worse still, if you're on your last life and one of you dies, you BOTH get kicked back to the main menu, it doesn't let the remaining survivor play on.
It doesn't look like they changed it in the 3DS version either which is pretty sad :/ in the SNES ones your lives were indeed shared in friendly mode (and split in competitive mode) but one player dying never sent both players out of the level!
Oh also, to top it all off there are several levels were you both occupy the same vehicle and have control over it, these levelsencourage the better player to do the whole thing themself with nothing but rage at the other, inferior player should they interfere. Also some levels have you share the same minecart and you both have to duck under certain obstacles or else the cart explodes, same deal here except the inferior player must constantly hold Down the entire time... yay?
Any levels where you don't share a vehicle/rocket are perfectly fine though. I'd rate the game an 8/10 as it has great single player and multiplayer gameplay but there are several huge flaws with the multiplayer keeping it from being a 9 or 10.

I'm still working on Disgaea 2... I'll admit that the story is just awful in this game...
It has nothing on the first game which I'll be replaying after the second one, this time I'll be going to fully finish the game with a maxed out team.
...
...
Maybe?, I don't know and I'll throw this out there. I hate Adell as the main character in the second game, he is so lame. <.<

Playing through the Infamous series on PS3. Quite possibly be my favorite Sony series. Move over Uncharted!

Finally got my GPU back after RMA'ing it, and to break in the new card I had to do some light BF3-gaming. I'll probably be playing this game a few times a month up until the release of BF4, so if anyone wants to squad up with me, shoot me a PM.
Other than that, I've been playing Skyward Sword and LA Noire, both for the first time. Love both, though it's tough to say which I prefer. I think LA Noire is a more interesting game by far, and Team Bondi had some really cool ideas. The execution is mostly flawless, though there is a few annoyances here and there. Skyward Sword on the other hand is a very typical Zelda-affair, and because of that simple fact I'm having a good time. I do think that a lot of the problems I had with the game (which were the reasons I didn't get the game when it came out) were probably related to the fact that I tried the game on two occasions before release, and both of those times it was at a gaming expo/press event. There was a lot of bluetooth-devices in those areas, and it's not impossible that they fucked up the controls.
That said, the motion controls are still pretty awful, but at least they aren't broken like I thought they were. They're just not very good. The game lacks in ambition, and I think it at times feels a little generic - almost as if it doesn't have much of a personality, even though it most certainly does.

Finally! You have no idea how frustrating it is to work at a gaming store and see people choose other stuff over inFamous 1 and 2 every. single. day.
I totally agree, my favorite series on the console, and I actually think inFamous 2 is the best action game that the console has to offer. The only reason I don't list it as my top PS3-game is because of Journey. So yeah, if you haven't gotten to 2 yet, you've got some awesome shit ahead of you. Have fun!

Funny, I actually have Infamous. I got it for free after PSN went down and they compensated everybody. I haven't even touched it yet; I've been distracted by so much else. I really oughta get around to playing it.
In the meantime though, I found out how to set up server mods on a local sever in Left 4 Dead, after we played on a server the other night that had elemental-themed tanks. And now the real fun begins... I also got back to the Jak and Daxter Trilogy. Jak II's the only game in the trilogy I haven't completely 100%ed yet, so I got enough orbs to unlock Hero Mode, and now I'm playing through that, on Mirror Mode as well for some added confusion, trying to get all 286 orbs.

Haven't tried multiplayer, no. The multiplayer's only local. But I've read about the shared health pool, and it indeed sounded pretty awful. As for me, I don't tend to rate on multiplayer experiences, since I'm a single-player guy first and foremost. Multiplayer failures only impact my score a little, but so far I really really love the game (I'm in World 5), the only issue I have with it is 4-5. That level is just... awful and shouldn't exist.

Been on a Kid Icarus craze ever since I beat the original game (that should really go in the accomplishments thread, that game is hard as friggin' hell), and been playing Uprising like crazy. I love everything about it, the gameplay, soundtrack, dialogue...even the puns. And I especially love the difficulty of it all. It gets Dark Souls hard, sheesh.
Also, picked up the Oracles on the eShop, because why not? Starting with Seasons for nostalgia's sake, since it was the one I had when I was younger. It's admittedly aged on me a lot, with how easy I've been finding it (except for Poison Moth, sheesh), but I still find it to be pretty good. And I do remember it getting a lot harder once you get to Level 5. I'm curious if I'll find myself loving Ages a lot more, however. It's been a while since I played through a lot of Ages, but I remember it being even harder and more interesting than Seasons. The changing of the seasons was done really well in some areas like Spool Swamp and Tarm Ruins, but it didn't really affect a lot of the areas that much, whereas going between the past and present (and how you traveled between them) had much bigger effects on the world.

That's just his style - to be a terrible character. ._. (Seriously, I really didn't like him...)
But seriously, good luck with Disgaea 2! I do think that overall it's more polished and plays better, but there are aspects I found really dumb. (The felony system...What the hell guys? There was so much wrong with that that I could rant for a good while about it...)
Recently did a 100% run of Super Adventure Island II. I forgot how much I love that game. ._. I'm also still playing Fire Emblem Awakening. I got a bunch of the DLC and am currently going through that along with the paralogues I hadn't done yet. Also working on building an uber team, though I'm still figuring out the specifics. ._. Much fun though! ![]()
