What did you accomplish in ZC today?

This week I...

  • Started two tilesets; the Joelmacool Tileset and Dragon Tileset. Why these names, I don't know.
  • I made my first character sprite, complete with animation and proper shading after several improvements.
  • I made several other custom tiles for Soulgazer's Requiem.
  • Made several screens for my two main projects greencacti.qst and Soulgazer's Requiem.
  • Made hieddy.qst.
  • Helped a very close friend on here with adding combos to his quest.
  • Almost done helping above friend with his subscreen, too.
  • Helped someone with their palette organization.

What a week.

Managed to get a little more of the 5th dungeon done in You Played a Quest When-. I'd like to have it done by the end of May, but we'll see how that goes. XD

I got halfway in making my Level 4. Took some time for me to get back into ZC, and what I'm really wanting to get done now is Level 4. Nothing else.

Off-Topic: I realized how well the Motley Bossblob theme from New Super Mario Bros 3D World fits level 4's boss of my project and how fitting Beep/Blast Block Skyway is for level 4 for the main theme. Even then though, I still think having the MIDIs from a very underrated game with kick ass music is better than using music from one of the most popular video game franchises around. That and I already have the Mario franchise covered in level 3.

 

On-Topic: What? You mean to tell me Adam actually is making progress on his quest? Blasphemy! But yeah, starting on the nice little "Did you go to X mini dungeon to pick up Y item" cave that leads to level 6. After that, no need for tedious as hell backtracking; just go south, use the Silver Arrow to hit the eye and volia! Instant shortcut. Pretty soon, level 6 will go under construction! Once I actually get around to it that is.

I spent like 6 hours duplicating my main subscreen 5 times over so each one could have slightly different information. Man I wish you could copy and paste subscreens!

Um ...  I hate to bring this up after you've done all the work, but you can.

 

You just export the subscreen via the File menu and then import it to a new slot.

DERP! At least it was sort of fun for some reason, lol. I have to make more at some point so it's good to know there's an easy way.

nothing yet, never anything. I keep wanting ideas and cannot go with them, very well. and thinking i can do the tile plopping architecture, and map desinging. and I want so many things in a quest, and do many ideas. and i never go though anything.

 

I want to make another one of the kinds, where most of the game is like a tower, not really  a rip off of the other one. a little bit like. But I see all these tiles for one of the pure sets, so you can make a bigger castle, and have a ship

and stuff.

and then there is the chore of setting up things in the combos, like the huge rocks and all the other trees.

I don't know how the idea of running back and forth though  a tower and dungeons is, like you get most of the treasure from the tower, to get  a a triforce or similar from the dungeons, and YOU need THOSE, and get a differnt one in the dungeon. or upgrades.

 

and then I saw those yummy scripts.

and i must use them.

and I wanted a largish nonsense quest.

 

my harddrive is full of LPs and unfinished quests.

Finally i got GB Power Bracelet script to work , It was a hard thing to setup but now it works .

 

So if anyone needs help to setup this in DoR tileset, i have a test quest also for that just send a pm

Utilized Gashisoft to port MIDI files into WAVs, to be compressed back into smaller 8-Bit MP3s (Down to at least 40-100 kb a track).

 

Creating a base for a Oracle-Style ZC creation. Isle Of Rebirth got it right, but it's missing Roc Feather-ing. Concept can be improved upon.
