I closed my quest project. There will be more to come eventually.
What did you accomplish in ZC today?

Truly sorry to hear this.
Ah well, I look forward to any future projects, of course. ![]()

Pushing through the remade Zelda Deluxe quests. Recording the big one currently. Just an FYI, NOT a good idea to go into levels in Lorule with only a white sword

So in ZC I've played through a few quests while looking for inspiration for my own. I'm also testing to see if they are indeed playable in 2.5.
Anyhow, within the 4-5 quests I've been playing have been some very weird design choices. Lots of Blue Wizzrobes while in Green Tunic and White Sword on one side. On the other, who seriously puts the Fire Boomerang in Level 3? Then someone felt the urge to put the entrance to Level 8 in a quest on the borders on a 1 tile tall cliff on the top of the screen where it's extremely difficult to bomb open because you're not supposed to be putting secrets over there.
So yeah, currently in the middle of <Insert Quest Title Here> by Saffith. Last level, White Sword and Green Tunic. Yeah I should probably Lens around before actually trying to go farther. I should at least hopefully find the L3 Sword somewhere. Blue Wizzrobes aren't fun with White Sword and Green Tunic, and the last level is full of them. Not positive if Tunics exist or not going by the description of the quest.

Once again, very little to say. I began to apply some layering into my project as seen in the Screenshot Critique Thread. So I'm actually getting some progress on my game, albeit very little. Still, I think that idea is going to be better for my quest in the long run as it shows more care and attention, not just haphazardly slapping screens together at complete random.
On another note, with EddyTheOliveira updating Quest of Beings, it made me consider doing something similar for Adam's Quest. However, I did not intend to ever release the quest, knowing that it frankly sucks and I wouldn't rate it higher than 3/5 myself. I can't use 1.92 anymore, further making me not want to release it because if I make any changes in 2.50, then it becomes a 2.50 quest. I wouldn't do too much to it other than fixing a bug or two I didn't catch before and attempting to make the bland sections of the map more interesting. I also planned to rebalance the quest too, namely reducing the amount of boss and statue spam in later dungeons and instead placing more Red/Blue Bubbles since Adam's Quest has almost no Bubbles in it period. Lastly, I would add an extra bonus dungeon that unlocks the Gold Tunic, which I think would make level 9 much more bearable.
To be honest, I don't feel like doing that update/upgrade to the quest, as I almost want it to remain as is as a reminder of my early design problems and as a way to show how I have improved. Again, I really do NOT plan to ever release it to PureZC and plan to only give it out to people through the means that I have for the past year. So what do YOU guys think I should do?

I second Anikom on that. But I do trust your reasoning for why you cancelled it, even if I don't necessarily agree.

I believe you should do what ever makes you happier.
I myself have a little private quest that I use to test out stuff. I always refer to that practice quest when I forget how to do something. With the first Adam's Quest game, how long would it take you to do all of these changes? If it only takes an hour or two, I would say make your changes in ZQuest 2.5. You don't plan on releasing it to the public, so you wouldn't have to worry about a 2.5 quest feeling WAY out of date.
If I where you, I would focus on Adam's Quest 2. You have already put that quest in the public's eye and I personally look forward to your finished product. I believe you would get a lot more joy at making a quest where you put all of your heart into. You have gained experience from your past quests. Instead of updating an old quest, use your new knowledge to make Adam's Quest 2 a higher quality game.
Again, do what you want to do.

Screen building is confusing and hard.
So I made a slot machine instead. Three matching reels wins a prize. I'm not sure where I can even use this...

I think I'll leave it as is. Maybe after Adam no Bouken Tsu, I may consider a full 2.50 overhaul of Adam's Quest from the ground up. That way I can kind of have a Metroid Zero Mission feel going. More fair gameplay, better balance, the addition of Z3 movement, the ability to eventually learn slash and adding a couple items not present in the original as well as bonus dungeons. The first two things to go would be all of my infamous "Touhou Rooms" and stop spamming the hell out of bosses. Seriously, watch any LP of Adam's Quest and you'll see heavy boss spam. In level 9, it's so extreme you'll be hard pressed to see Link. How about a room of 2 big Manhandlas and 4 regular ones in a room where the entire wall is lined with nothing but shooters? Sound like fun? I don't think so either.
But I think you're right. I really need to focus on Adam no Bouken Tsu since it has a lot of support and I really owe it to myself after my reviews to see that it gets completed. I have everything that I need. I have all of the feedback from those that played my demo, plenty of ideas I have yet to use, a lot more game to go and more. It's just a matter of me finding the time to actually work on it and stop letting my fear of making boring overworlds stop me.
