They better add Mega Evolution into Sun and Moon!!! That's just something that's too important to be left in Gen 6. To me, Z moves are just a nagging reminder that GF is trying to replace Megas, seeing as Z moves are also a bracelet that you put stones into to make your Pokemon do special things. But Z Moves just don't seem as appealing as Mega Evolution to me.

Anyway, I'm probably getting Moon, because everyone else seems to be getting Sun, so I get the different (albeit slightly) experience.

Mega Evolution was the main mechanic of Gen 6 and they pretty much used it as a selling point for that gen. They also never removed any battle mechanics between gens. I'm talking about mechanics such as physical/special split, abilities, natures and so forth. That also means that all of the pokemon that sucked before they got one will go back to sucking again.

If they remove them, i don't know. I think that will kill whatever motivation i had to buy the games, because i really liked Mega Evolution.

I don't think Megas will be removed, but as the news continues to come out I don't think we'll get any new ones this gen either. They've made passive reference to Megas still existing with stuff like that magazine that apparently specified that Jangmo-o's Soundproof blocks MegaGardevoir's Hyper Voice, so I feel like they're still going to be around. Maybe there will be new ones and they just don't want new Megas to overshadow the hype they feel actual new mechanics should be getting. Only time will tell though.

EDIT: Although, thinking about it now, I wonder how they'll do it. Since Z-Moves also use a bracelet, will they have some other accessory use a mega stone? Maybe they'll just combine the two into one thing?

I hope they don't reveal a single Mega Evolution prior to the games release. I was really dissapointed that they revealed every Mega in ORAS prior to that game's release. Now, people can say it's my fault for spoiling the suprise by following the reveals, in XY they revealed a bunch of them but also left a bunch of them unrevealed and it was fun finding which old pokemon got one.

It could probably be a thing that doesn't happen until post league.  See FireRed with breeding and non-Kanto Pokemon, HeartGold with non-Kanto/Johto Pokemon, and Black and White with non-Unova Pokemon.  It was most hilarious in B/W, since at first, everyone was like "We don't see other region Pokemon here."  And then, right after you finish the main story the first time, either mass immigration happens, or absolutely no one has ever visited the other half of the circle to see other region Pokemon.

Well, looks like MegaEvolution has been fully confirmed to be coming back. No new one's revealed but that's fine. Now for my thoughts on the new content once again!

Spoiler

I agree with both Norzan and Koh. Megas seem like they'll be a postgame thing, but if there ARE any new ones, I want to be surprised. We also have yet to see an Alolan form that has a Mega, so that would be something interesting to see as well.

Still waiting on Mega Farfetch'd with an ability that gives it a 100% crit rate.

For real though, I would be excited to see some new Megas, especially Mega Alolan Pokemon. Also, it appears that the Spanish website leaked an image of a new "Ice Stone", which might answer the question of whether Alolan Vulpix still needs a Fire Stone to evolve.

The evolution of the fire starter is also quadrupedal. Good, good, going in the right direction. Now let it end quadrupedal in the final stage.

Seriously, it might be something idiotic to complain about, but for 20 years the fire starters all ended bipedal and it's getting really tiring. Please let Gen 7 fire starter end quadrupedal.

I can't wait for my Ash-Greninja to lose to a Charizard!

It's Ash's Greninja. Welp, i bet a regular Greninja with 0 IVs, 0 EVs and a nature decreasing speed and upping defense is still better than a Greninja trained by Ash.

I'd say Rowlet's evolution is more Young Republican than emo or a butler. Reminds me of a preppy kid whose dad paid for his brand new car.

One thing that just occurred to me was the potential for a sort of New Game+ mode, where you could start from the beginning with your team of Pokemon you used to beat the Elite 4. Even if they didn't want to do something as gamebreaking as that, it would be nice to have some feature where you can choose from a wider selection of starters, like ones from past games, or even just popular three-stage Pokemon that weren't ever starters.

Type:Null's evolution is actually kind of cool looking, and dragon/fighting is a neat typing. Minus the fact that it'll get even more wrecked by the unnecessary Fairy-type.

Also, have one of the comments: "RKS System = Arceus System."

"Unnecessary Fairy type".

Because, yes, Dragon types were so balanced in Gen 5. It's not like they overdominated the metagame in that Gen. Oh, wait.

The only stupid thing they did was making the Fairy type and then in turn make two of the most broken, completely unbalanced Dragon Megas ever.

Last evolution of that Dragon looks cool. Seems to be the pseudo of Gen 7.

I'll probably use Nicki Minaj so long as it gets something other than grass type moves... which isn't often the case for non-starter pure grass types.  But that exclusive ability to her is too good...  Silvally also looks really cool, and poison/dark Muk is actually kind of awesome.  Cool stuff here.

Also, apart from the fairy weakness, dragon/fighting is legit great.  Pounds ice and steel types with a STAB super effective type against them, and resists stealth rocks.  RIP anyone using Alolan Sandslash.
