So TS showed me this:

ALBW_Shop.jpg

and then I found this post: https://miiverse.nin...BAADMUKlYz1zqxQ

And I have to say, I'm kind of worried by this.  I don't really like the idea of the arsenal being mostly bought in a shop, and I'm now remembering that in the demo for the Tower of Hera, there wasn't a dungeon item.  At best, it'd be like a place to upgrade items, or a place to craft them, maybe hinted at by the fact that it looks like he's wearing an apron.

I'm worried about the new system myself. Maybe it won't be something we were expecting, since Aonuma seems to be teasing us about what we think it will be in that link, but depending on how it might end up utilized, it... well, it'll be different, but I guess we'll see when we learn more or play the game for ourselves. Though if it does turn out that this place is where we get all our items, well, there goes the fun of exploring the world for new items. Unless not all the items are found there... Hmm...

Not likely at all. Nintendo is making this game to take advantage of the 3DS handheld, so they're not going to port it to other systems.

Crossing my fingers they'll take the Terranigma route, and this "shop" is really just an inventory screen taking the form of a room IN LINK'S MIND ...  Yeah, I'm a little worried, too.  Maybe there's a limited carrying capacity for items and you have to store them there? That would be bothersome in its own right, but probably better than finding every item in the same boring shop.

Personally, I really like the new artwork, and the news about the Dark World is putting me at ease a bit. It doesn't look as similar as the light world does to the original, and they seemed to suggest a lot of the layout would be different. It was good to see dungeons that didn't feel right out of Link to the Past, and the puzzles look intriguing.

I can think of an easy explanation that explains the whole shop thing:  BS Legend of Zelda:  Ancient Stone Tablets.  You rent items for a certain amount of time, then they have to be returned.  Same deal here...rent the hammer, go do stuff that needs the hammer, bring it back.  Otherwise, they'll probably make them really expensive, just to give rupees a purpose.  Think about it...Rupees never really served much purpose in Zelda; you always find yourself maxing the counter out, and having to buy things to be able to carry any more.

As for the artwork, it looks like Link drank a Potion of Youth.  What the hell happened there?  It's not bad or anything, but it definitely looks like he regressed in age.  But I guess that sort of makes sense, since he sounds like a child in game.

And looks a child too. As for the renting items idea... it has merit? Yeah, it kind of does, I remember Bill Trinen hinting at a different use for rupees during the ComicCon demo, something like "You're gonna need all those rupees" that the players kept finding. If that turns out to be the case... Well, I'll have to see it in action first, but I'm not sure I like that either. Sheesh, I've gone cynical all the sudden, but at least they're trying to shake up the experience? I dunno.

Then you need to grab yourself an SNES emulator, and a copy of the BS Legend of Zelda:  Ancient Stone Tablets rom, and see how it feels for yourself x3. What amazes me is NO ONE has yet to rip the sprites of the BS Mascots from that game.  Why would you not do that, but like LTTP and ripping sprites :x.

It's honestly not very comparable anyway. those were only a couple of completely optional upgrades (that I don't think I ever used) versus necessary items.

Well if Nintendo cant make decent games (well more I read, The less the quality of the game seems. Also all the other WII U games look like poop) then I will be awaiting shane7227's ALttP 2 much more.

I don't know about yous but I still have faith in Nintendo with this. :sigh:

The shop could either be:

  • Something similar to Majora's Mask, where an enemy takes an item an you have to buy it back.
  • Maybe a checklist for the lack of better words. All the items you don't have are shown here.
  • Or could be an upgrade store or maybe something to allow the item to use less of the item gauge.

But if this really is a standard shop... well what will come of the idea of dungeon items and will this break linearity?

The more I look at that picture, the more bizarre it becomes. Weird stuff:

1) The guy in the Bunny suit. :P
2) Link has a different sprite. What?
3) All the items are on plates.
4) The weird white thing to the right of Link's head.
5) The floating tree??!??
6) A tree stump in a house???
7) The overturned bed.
8) The weird items.
9) Bird cage. Maybe for the white thing?
I think that this must be Link's house in the DarkWorld. I don't know what else to think.

1. Thought it was the same guy as the Rabbitland Rescue guy in Spirit Tracks, myself, though that doesn't make much sense

2. Dunno.

3. Reminds me of Four Swords (Adventures), actually.

4. Kinda looks like the bird you use for traveling in ALttP?

5. Just noticed that... dunno either.

6. Makeshift stool?

7. Please, all the cool kids sleep like that now. 8) Nah but maybe he just puts it up in the daytime before setting it back down later, I dunno.

8. The only ones that seem weird are on the left. Looks like a book and a... reed with a propeller? Reminds me of the Whirlwind from Spirit Tracks almost. I dunno.

I'm not so sure this is Link's Dark World house, I think it'd look more... corrupted, if that was the case. Plus, I dunno, four hearts, it looks early in the game, so unless Dark World is accessible very early, I doubt it.

You just contradicted yourself SO bad. First you seemed excited for the game, but you couldn't buy it. But now, it's not decent at all? No offense, but your reasoning makes no sense.
