I'm kind of worried about this game. Like if they will remove a character that I really liked or if the character roster has a lot of not-very-cool people (like last game they had Mr. Game and Watch and Ice Climbers. They could have done better than them). Also if they change the controls from Melee so much that it's hard to adjust to Brawl (although since they are allowing a Gamecube controller, it can't be much different).
As to having 100 event matches, remember that for evey thing that they put in that game is something else that they can't. This game is becoming huge, and if it becomes too big there might not be room for anything else (you caan interperet that any way you want). Event matches were cool, but 100 of them? That's kind of a lot.

I know. It's called "wishful thinking". But hey, if they don't have 100 Event Matches, it's not like I'm going to return the game while swearing to and from GameStop, make a youtube video about it and then give it a -infinity out of 10. icon_lol.gif

They just better have lots of trophies to collect. That was the main reason I played. I'm ok with almost anything as long as they have over 500 trophies like in melee.

I almost had them all in that game when my memory card glitched. I needed 7! =(

I think That that'd be a good idea, as long as they don't make some only available in, say Japan, or perhaps give each reigion 5 special trophies.

And if it is wifi-compatable, there could be trophy-swapping, although I think that'd be rubbish.

Melee had only 290, plus 3 that are obtainable only via Action Replay (Mario w/ Yoshi, Samus Unmasked, and this one Japan-only trophy whose name I can't remember. He wasn't included, because of his English translation name, which, I also forgot what it is).

Animus: You can get them without action replay... If you're playing the Japaneese Version icon_razz.gif

Today's Update: Bridge of Eldin (Stage)

This stage looks nice but doesn't look like it could have a great variety of play, as it has no other platforms. The only redeemeing factor is possibly the King Bulblin thing and his bombs (in my opinion).

I liked Ice Climbers. They were unique.

I like the new update too. The stage looks only ok though. Delfino Plaza looks cooler.

It seemed like a pretty boring level at first, but then I remembered final Destination from SSBM, which was also flat and had no obstacles. I think this is the sort of stage I need to play on to get a feel of it.

Does anyone else want to see the Platforms mini-game return? I felt that it was better than the targets one and was disappointed when It wasn't in SSBM.

I'd want it back just for the guy's voice who announced the round in SSB: "BOARD THE PLATFORMS!"

I think the reason they kept Targets but got rid of Platforms is because you can integrate boarding platforms into Break the Targets by placing a ledge in a certain location with a corresponding target. I think they felt that boarding the platforms was redundant.

"HOLY $#@! BOARD THE PLATFORMS! HAUL BUTT, NOW!"

Yeah. I do wish Board the Platforms came back. I say a new challenge should be made for SSBB, like SSBM did with Multi-Man Melee and Home Run Contest. Maybe it should be like "DODGE THE BULLETS!" where various characters have to dodge multitudes of Bullet Bills, and your shield won't regenerate. That would be fun.

Hold down the Action button for (take fox for exmple) he punches with his left hand and then right and then so on (if you played SSBM you would know what i'm on about).

Can't we get more items or stages or somthing other than things you can do by button smashing

Well, the site does need to have its How to Play section updated from time to time. You have to admit, though. There were some nice updates, last week. I think we can all wait at least one more day to see a new character, stage, or item update. Besides, the How to Play section is in order to attract players unfamiliar to the game, so Sakurai shouldn't neglect that section if he wants Brawl to be a big success.

EDIT: lol, I gotta get into the habit of proofreading BEFORE completing the post. icon_lol.gif I'm typing this at 7 in the morning. icon_razz.gif

9 AM here. Eh.

I'm actually kinda ... ... Hm. I'm not sure whether to be pleased or to be unhappy with this. I'm still kinda irritated that whenever I need to punch someone twice as Fox, Falco, or the Cap'n, I run a risk of getting "stuck" in a flurry. I think that the best thin they could do for that is to simply stop the combo(Flurry of kicks or punches...) when you stop pressing A or holding the button. In other words, they'd only do one punch of the flurry if you only Pressed A once or only held in A for that punch's duration of time.

Yeah, I thought so too at first. I'm not saying this should relieve your troubles, but remember that in the previous two versions, there was kind of a maximum speed you could attack at, regardless of how quickly you pushed the button. This single button flurry mechanic is just reaching that maximum speed for you.
