Well, turns out my car's computer is failing and the mechanic can't get a new one for my car until Monday at the earliest. I am really afraid to see what my car's repair bill is going to look like. I already feel ready to bash my head against a brick wall until I black out.

Anyway, the drive to drop my mother off at work and then over to the mechanic was uneventful; everything was just fine. However, once I got there, that's when things went wrong. I was fortunate my father was working around the mechanic and was able to pick me up and drop me off at my house before going to his job site. I was unfortunate however that the problem with my car is something I have no choice but to cope with for the next few days. Pretty much when I picked my car up today, my tachometer was completely dead. NOTHING worked at all; the thermometer, RPM gauge, speedometer and fuel gauges are all broken.

I had to judge how fast I was going on the way home, and sadly, I failed at that miserably according to my father who was following me back. I was going 5 MPH under the speed limit, mostly because I had no way to judge my speed and I was worried about speeding. Thankfully, I wasn't surging like I was coming home from work last night. But I don't plan to drive more than I have to. Hopefully my work schedule isn't going to be horrible because if it is, it's going to be that much more painful as I have a bad feeling this repair bill is going to kill me and not being able to go to work on scheduled days = less money. Don't forget student loan repayments as well. Yeah, back to being just as screwed as I was before I got my job thanks to all of the expenses coming up.

Ehhh, that's nothing. My Dad's car has a high chance of exploding at any moment. He's the only one who can drive it. There is a constant threat of over heating and the antifreeze leaks. It's often neccesary to kill the engine and use manual steering to coast. It's pretty legit.

My Dad's a fantastic driver. One time we were up in the mountains on a dirt road with almost no gas. He went down with the engine off around hairpin turns. In a minivan. Like a boss.

Sounds like my Ford I used to have. That thing had a fetish for breaking down and having problem after problem. As much as I have been lamenting about my whole car situation, it's still much better than that Ford. One year was well over $3,000 to keep on the road (could have bought a decent used car for that). Of course, my father and I were getting scammed by the mechanic. I mean how can you tell me he's being honest giving us an estimate of a few hundred then all of the sudden my vehicle costs $1,600 for repairs, only to break down 1-2 months later? At that point, we should have just gotten a better car.

Here's a small list of problems the Ford had:

-Fuel pump died; that plus towing ran $300

-AC didn't work and couldn't hold a charge at all

-At one point it would idle at 40 MPH

-Impossible to go up hills at more than 30 MPH even if I floored the gas pedal

-CONSTANT issues with surging at complete random

-Heater took ages to work when started

-The engine always ran really hot; like the thermostat has a blue bar, the word NORMAL and a red bar. Normally the engine would stay around the R and the M, but towards the end of my time having it, it was always around the A and the L, and turning on the heater in an attempt to cool my engine made it go HIGHER

-Would not start half the time

For the longest time, I had few problems with my Pontiac. Now, it seems to be slipping into the FORD syndrome. For those that don't know, FORD is a derogatory acronym that stands for "fix or repair daily". I had a really crappy one I made up; "You can't afford a Ford." or "Ford vehicles; you can't afford them."

Well, back to doing completely asinine things in games that I'm "not supposed to" or in the cause of OSRS, is going to make my character a "failed account". Bah, what do a bunch of close-minded kids know? Games are time wasters any way that you look at it, and who's to say how I choose to waste my time is wrong?

I also feel like my paychecks are getting a bit larger. That or I just seem to be getting better and more consistent hours. Meh, I don't know. Just seems like the work situation is improving again. Until the next time I have a lousy day and complain about it.

I just noticed that in last week's SotW thread, the post about the winner says Map of the Month 461.  Again, nobody else probably cares.

I'm happy with my job now. I'm hardly managed. Everyone here seems to assume I am human enough to get things done on my own. I think management style can make a world of difference for employees' attitudes.
