Looks interesting. I love those trees, but the grass is something I'm not too sure on. Well, sort of. I'm just not fond of how much of it you got going. If it were used a little more sparingly, I think it could be great. Leaving a some 'blank' spots to help break it up a bit would be my suggestion. Though I love what you've got going overall. icon_smile.gif

@Migokalle: Hah. I just kinda found the image on an RPG Maker site. Apparently it comes from Final Fantasy 1 on the GBA. icon_xd.gif Thanks for your input. icon_smile.gif

@Angeal: Thank you. I'll definitely try to see about getting a bird in there. I'd actually like to add a few other small, minor details, but I guess we'll see. icon_cat.gif

@Yoshimi: That would be awesome. Not entirely sure how I would pull it (Palette cycling is one of those things I could never figure out.) but if I could, I'd sure go for it. icon_smile.gif

This is a fine screen, It could use some spice up if you want to have a screen that looks really good but it isn't always needed since your quest will use millions hundreds of screen and each one doesn't have to be perfect, they just have to tell the player that you made it.

Wow, Gonken! You never cease to amazing me! I REALLY love those puddles. (And those leaf-pile thingy behind the tree near the middle). I love the transition, too. icon_smile.gif

I love it also, Sheik! I would rather you used MC grass, though. Maybe edit it a bit? the ALttP grass is s old nowadays...

That is a great map, Gonken! As previously stated, the puddles work wonderfully. It reminds me a lot of this map Evile posted:

Some of the left bottom (in elevation terms) mountain bends the same way as the top left mountain. How you handled the water isn't the best thing I've seen (never been keen on unreachable shallow water). Also the mini GB tree should be removed. Otherwise good screen.

I think I know the fields name... is it Selhera Field? icon_deformed.gif

I could take a crack at it. I'll look into it tomorrow while i'm at school. *downloads screenshot for later* I made a really nice palette for Jared one time, and I have made a couple of palettes for my quest. I'll make something tomorrow and see what you think. How's that sound?

Yeah, I might actually just use them like aLttP did and see how that'd look like. Or maybe I'll get rid of them altogether. And thank you icon_smile.gif

Thanks. Well, it is a little old, but anything BS is older. Also, I've actually edited them a little. But I will see what I can do. Evile had some nice grass tiles in his MZC tileset which I will check out. As for the hearts, go ahead and rip them; they are from PH/ST, actually. You can rip them from my screenshot of course, but if you want to, you can find them on Spriter's Resource.

Oh yeah, I remember I ripped the heart myself before! :O But, I need to learn how to set up big hearts then :\

Oh yeah it does! MC Screens are often designed the same way, since the mountains are more limited. However they won't be too limited in my tileset. icon_smile.gif

Learn to use life meter pieces on the subscreen. It's not hard - just tedious.
There should be a tutorial around here somewhere, so try searching for it if you're confused.

Practice Palette: Eldin Volcano
I tried to pick the colours by eye from the GameInformer Eldin Volcano teaser video and adjusted them where I thought appropriate. Does the palette look good? And do those dirt tiles work at all?

@Yoshimi I'm not sure about the path borders. They make it look like dried up rivers for obvious reasons. icon_shrug.gif

'Dried up' is pretty much the feeling I'm going for considering it's supposed to be a volcano. I see where you are coming from, though.

Yoshimi: those borders don't work because as BB89 stated, they look like dried-up riverbeds. Try one of the grass borders in the PTUX (probably in others as well) tileset.

BB89: Not bad, but the screen doesn't look like it has a point... for one, a couple of trees and some grass in the middle of a dungeon seems sorta random. Second, it just feels plain. Try varying the details and especially the colors. It's just completely green.
