So like, Spiders seem to love my house. The annoying part is, they also seem to love my room the most.

In the last week or so, I've encountered 11 spiders in my room, it's starting to get really bad. It makes working on my projects nerve wreaking because I have to worry about spiders too.

Preferably just make sure your room isn't warm. Generally, from what I observed, spiders come into my house when the weather or room is warm. They appear less in winter seasons. Also, they seem to like rooms where they can catch a lot of bugs; even just flies can increase the chances of spiders coming in. Also make sure you check every space in your room. You don't want them breeding.

From what you told me, you could of got that one from outside. I had a funnel web spider crawl up my jeans last year at school.

I see the occasional spider in my bathroom in the morning and sometimes I'll see a millipede/centipede. I used to be terrified to sleep outside in a tent because of earwigs. But generally, I'm one of those weird people that if I see a bug on the ground, I'm not afraid to stomp on it, even if I'm barefoot at the time. The only bugs I won't kill on sight are bees and stink bugs. Bees, yellow jackets, wasps, hornets, etc are something I'm afraid of and I'll be damned if I'm going to deal with being stung again. As for stink bugs, killing them is just out of the question because of that terrible smell. I instead spray them with a squirt bottle mixed in with a bit of dish liquid soap.

Speaking of stink bugs, I remember the first time I dealt with a major infestation. My bedroom was a literal stink bug Hell. HUNDREDS of the blighters. And yes, that's literally how many there were. Nothing and I mean NOTHING could stem the tide. They came in through everywhere; tiny gaps in the windows, the AC, you name it. I tried drowning them in a 2 liter bottle but I made the mistake of letting it sit for days. That smell...I can't do it justice. It's THAT bad. Honestly, the filthiest portable toilet unit smells great in comparison, although that's disgusting. I apologize.

Also, when I was younger, I had a habit of swatting fireflies out of the air and smearing them on the sidewalk, much to my mother's chagrin. Then again, she gets upset if I kill bugs in general other than stink bugs and even more so if I decide to flatten a spider under my foot or with my hand.

I have phobia of spiders, I do get them in my room as well mainly giant Brown Recluse spiders. :shiver:

I've never been able to keep them out of my room, I even put spider poison out and they ignore it. Man I hate spiders so much...

I like spiders.  They kill many of the other bug pests around the house.

The spider isn't bad. The spider is just misunderstood.

...If only I could agree.

At least you don't get black widows crawling around your house. I think we got rid of most of ours, but about four months ago, we found a nest of black widows in our garage, and some of them found their way into our house. That was pretty terrifying.

We have had black widows (like 6 years ago) as well. But some poison took care of them, most of the time we found them in dresser and kitchen draws. *Shivers*

Get a praying mantis and leave it in your room for a few days.

My house seems to lack crickets. It's unfortunate because there are ants everywhere and the spiders aren't exactly the type that would actively hunt ants like crickets do.

Is Portugal famous for snakes or something?

Not necessarily, but Portugal does have some pretty creepy snakes...

And while we're on the topic of spiders, I haven't seen one in my home for the last year. We generally get the Daddy Long Leg kind of spiders. I do have a big phobia over spiders though :x

I just realized I hate my job.

I think everyone realizes that at some point... I know I hate my job sometimes as well. I'm technical support for a business that deals with storage lockers. You wouldn't believe how many times I get called in to fix the printer and wireless routers. And other electronic stuff in the office. <.<
