Dungeon order

Ruta, Rudania, Medoh, and then Naboris for me. Doing Ruta first worked out because Mipha's Grace was a godsend before I started mastering the game. When I do a second save file though, I would probably do Medoh first for its incredible help in exploration, and then the rest... doesn't matter I suppose.

It worked pretty well for me. I cared more about exploring, so I got the exploration power right off the bat. It was also kind of cool since that's the order the Divine Beasts are shown in the Ganon fight, so I'm gonna assume that's the "correct" order or something. I dunno.

Dungeon Order

Ruta, Naboris, Rudania, Medoh. On reflection ... damn, I wish I'd gone to Medoh first. I loved the exploration aspect of the game. I maxed my stamina bar before taking a single heart upgrade and loved climbing over all the giant mountains to get into trouble in places I "wasn't supposed to be." Revali's Gale was my dream ability. Mipha's Grace was probably the second most useful of the set to me, though, so if I could pick another to do first Ruta made the most sense. Still, Medoh last ... AAAAaaaaa! As for the "intended" order, I have a hard time believing they meant for it to be anything other than Ruta. It seems natural to move on to the wetlands after Kakariko/Hateno, and there's a bunch of Zora around there screaming at you to go meet prince Sidon, so much it's almost impossible to miss. On the other hand, the gauntlet to reach Zora's Domain seems much harder than anything on the relatively clear path to the Rito village, and Medoh seems like a slightly less complex dungeon in terms of the tilting mechanic than Ruta, I feel.

In retrospect, I regret this order as I would of done: Ruta, Medoh, Rudania, Naboris. Thunderblight Ganon and the dungeon itself along with the champion were my favorites. Rudania felt like it ended the dungeons on a weak note. I wish they played around with the darkness more than feeling like Medoh 2.0. I also did Waterblight Ganon than Windblight Ganon. I got my butt handed to me for doing a Divine Beast way too soon...

I did Naboris, Medoh, Ruta, Rudania, although I'd probably switch the first two if I played it again. Not sure how people did Ruta first since when I tried that the Lynel absorbed all of my swords before I even got it to half health.

You're not supposed to kill the Lynel. You can, but you don't have to. Just sneak around, grab the arrows you need, and run.

And, yeah, Ruta is a good natural first choice. Mipha's Grace is really helpful. In a future playthrough, I will be doing Medoh first, then Ruta, cause not getting Ravioli's Gale till last was just asinine. I personally think the "intended" order is something like Ruta, Medoh, Rudania, then Nabooris, but the game is so open ended, there's no telling what they really intended. I feel that Zora/ Rito are meant to be done before the harsher climates of Goron/ Gerudo.

 

Also, I'm totally convinced that the ZC quest, Zelda's Butt is totally about this iteration of Zelda.

I beat the first Minor Test of Strength finally. Yet to challenge any Guardians, though.

 

Also, there was this one area which dissolved into white as I tried to glide towards it. What's going on there?

 

Not sure where I want to go next. There's a lot of sidequests I've yet to do and I've done very little of the main story.

That... would be the Lost Woods of this game. There's an entrance to it leading from a trail to the south.

Clearly it was an important feature. The amiibo took care to perfectly represent it.

I guess this explains why she was sold out everywhere by Day 3 and why some of the other amiibo from this line are lacking in some quality. (I.e Rider Link has no face.)

I'm really looking forward to a second playthrough of this. There's a lot of stuff I didn't do till way late that I should have done early, and a few other things I'd do differently.

 

As far as Guardians go, they are really intimidating at first, but there are some pretty great, and satisfying ways you'll discover to take them out, and it feels good since they've been hyped since trailer one of this game, and shown off as this powerhouse super enemy.
