So I'm a little over halfway through Yoshi's Island right now, and I think I've decided: It's nowhere near as good as Super Mario World. That said, it's still pretty good, with a fun little soundtrack, and worth the experience. I think I might go replay Yoshi's Story after this to compare the two, since it's been so damn long since I've played it. Oh, and before anyone notes I can't make this comparison when I'm only halfway through... that's generally enough to make a judgment on the overall quality of a Mario game. icon_razz.gif

Oh, but you haven't seen Marching Middle's Fort yet. And your overall rating of the game will probably either go way up or way down, depending on how much of a masochist you are. Or maybe not, but that level was basically the hardest thing ever for me when I was seven. <_<

I've been working on Final Fantasy 13 once again... I'm bored and I have nothing else to do so sue me for playing a game for the 20th time.

*insert picture of a guy whacking a dead horse labeled "EA sucks" with a stick*

This reminds me that I've just gotten The Sims 3 and I'm so disappointed with it... My computer is over powered and it runs like shit.

Every time I move the camera the game lags so bad, strange though if I don't move the camera the game is full speed...
I'm guessing the game is so badly coded it sucks on overpowered systems.

I played it when it first came out on my sisters computer and it met minimum requirements it played better on hers then it does my new computer. D:

I've been playing Valkyria Chronicles II on the Vita. I'm not really digging the whole school drama setting, but the gameplay is still as awesome as the original on the PS3.

@Ventus: You know, I've been wanting to do a second run of FFXIII and XIII-2 before Lightning Returns comes out. If I skip all the cutscenes, that should take a good 30-40 hours.

That was my plan as well get and replay both game before Lightning Returns comes out.
Are you like reading my brain are something. xD

Anyways if you skip all the cutscreens and rush though all the areas in Final fantasy 13 you might be able to complete way under 30 hours.

I was able to beat the game under 10 hours (It shows I've played it to much D: )
But I don't know about 13-2 it might take longer since the game was more open.

Well I wish you luck on going through both again. icon_razz.gif

And by chance Does anyone know the release date of Lightning Returns? or has yet to be announced.

I also loaded Kingdom Hearts II and Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter into my PC; two more games I've never finished.

If you're emulating Kingdom Hearts II, there's an English Patch for the Final Mix version. With this particular game, YOU HAVE TO PLAY THE FINAL MIX VERSION!!!! I cannot stress it enough, the US version of the game stripped out something like 30 boss fights, multiple weapons, story-critical cutscenes, several enemy types, multiple abilities, an entire difficulty setting with unique abilities you can use to up the challenge even further, and a lot of other stuff that I can't recall off the top of my head.

The only drawbacks to the English Final Mix is that Pride Rock had to be removed (not a big deal, dull level and not plot-relevant), and all of the text in the game is all capital letters because there weren't any lower-case English letters in the game. (I think that was the reason)

It's a patch? In that case I'd have to rip the CD or find an .iso?

I believe you'll have to find an .iso of Final Mix.

Which I really need to get one downloaded for the sake of all the stuff kurt91 said. <3
I'm a sucker for the Jap version of some game for the reason they are better. icon_razz.gif

That has to be one of my biggest annoyances with Square. A lot of their games are released in Japan first, with a handful of minor bugs and issues. They'll fix those, and then release the US version. Afterwards, they'll use that version for a base, add in all sorts of awesome stuff and release it in Japan only and label it either "Final Mix" or "International Edition".

I own retail copies of Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts II, Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy X-2, and Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep. Even so, the second I get a computer that can run a PS2 emulator, I'm going to download the Japanese versions that have translation patches (I think FFX had it's International Edition released in Europe, so I don't think it would need translated. WHY WASN'T IT BROUGHT HERE IF IT'S ALREADY IN ENGLISH!!!!!!!) and play through them again.

Yeah I know want you mean about square... Its pretty annoying on how they do that. They let US have a half finished game, while japan gets added awesomeness.
It sucked that I had to buy some games 2 times once here in the US and then I have to pay a friend to order me the Japanese version.

Its pretty annoying But its not to bad. It gives me a reason to try to learn Japanese. icon_razz.gif

As said, you'll need to find an ISO of the Final Mix version and apply the patch to that. Some cut scenes will afaik have japanese dialog but english subtitles*, no big issue. Everything else should be english though.

*I believe some of the unique characters to the Final Mix version only had japanese actors voice them.

I now have beaten all final bosses in The Binding of Isaac save for one. Beating all of them with all characters is gonna be a pain...

Also, after beating Megaman 4 again, I stand by my claim that it's the best in the classic series, followed by 3. It feels the most balanced and least devilish of the series, even if some of the robot masters are annoying, but hey, every game has their annoying bosses. That's kind of a trademark of the series. icon_heh.gif

Which part, the chasing Chomp in the beginning or the castle itself? It really wasn't that bad at all, I thought it was fun. Not like the backtracking was awful or anything. It was just a couple of small rooms. The Chomp segment was great, the castle itself was fine, but it doesn't really affect my opinion of the game overall so far.

Oh believe me, Namco Bandai is alot worse when it comes to their Tales games (points at DX versions, additional ports, and actual Tales games we never got)

Anyhoo, I've been playing Fire Emblem Awakening and Ni No Kuni lately. Really enjoying Awakening, even though I've never played an FE game before, but Ni Nu Kuni, on the other, good lord, the excessive hand-holding in this game is ATROCIOUS. Seriously, I thought Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess was really bad about it until played this. Like I really need to be taught what leveling up does. It's taken up more than the gameplay so far from what I've been through. Here's to hoping it at least picks up. Oiy. x.x

KenMeister: There's always a little bit of hand holding (Drippy: Cast THIS spell HERE!), but in my humble opinion, there's a lot of cool stuff to come in Ni No Kuni, and I hope the rest doesn't turn you off to the game as a whole.
