That has to be one of my biggest annoyances with Square. A lot of their games are released in Japan first, with a handful of minor bugs and issues. They'll fix those, and then release the US version. Afterwards, they'll use that version for a base, add in all sorts of awesome stuff and release it in Japan only and label it either "Final Mix" or "International Edition".
I own retail copies of Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts II, Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy X-2, and Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep. Even so, the second I get a computer that can run a PS2 emulator, I'm going to download the Japanese versions that have translation patches (I think FFX had it's International Edition released in Europe, so I don't think it would need translated. WHY WASN'T IT BROUGHT HERE IF IT'S ALREADY IN ENGLISH!!!!!!!) and play through them again.
Oh believe me, Namco Bandai is alot worse when it comes to their Tales games (points at DX versions, additional ports, and actual Tales games we never got)
Anyhoo, I've been playing Fire Emblem Awakening and Ni No Kuni lately. Really enjoying Awakening, even though I've never played an FE game before, but Ni Nu Kuni, on the other, good lord, the excessive hand-holding in this game is ATROCIOUS. Seriously, I thought Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess was really bad about it until played this. Like I really need to be taught what leveling up does. It's taken up more than the gameplay so far from what I've been through. Here's to hoping it at least picks up. Oiy. x.x
