Hey everyone, just a heads up that we currently have two submissions for Screenshot of the Week 855! I will not be posting the contest until there are at least three submissions!

 

Additionally, after several thoughts and discussions regarding the future of Screenshot of the Week over the last few months, I have decided that there will not be any drastic changes to the contest format or schedule. Instead, I will be stepping aside from my Screenshot of the Week host duties following Screenshot of the Week 855's conclusion; either next week or the one after. 

 

Anthus has kindly offered to step up and assume contest hosting duties from then onwards to until the end of the year; and thanks to him for putting his hand up to assist in this capacity.

 

I highly advise that if anybody wants to run the contest in 2026 or beyond to reach out to PureZC staff with an expression of interest.

Hey all, I will be officially running Screenshot of the Week from here on out as mentioned a few posts above. I'm happy to do it, and looking forward to it, even if we have some slower weeks here and there. There aren't gonna be any big changes or anything like that, so expect the contest to go on as normal. I'd like to thank Taco Chopper for running it for a while as well.

Hello everyone, as of now I have two entries for SotW 856. If we get one more in the next 36-ish hours, the contest can go up Monday night EST as normal (might be later that evening depending on my work schedule).

Hello all, currently I only have one entry for SotW 861. If I can get two more in the next 24-ish hours the contest can go up at the normal time Monday evening EST. Otherwise, it will be postponed until next week.

Hello all, this is a (hopefully) short post about the results in this thread, and about the schedule for SotY and next year in general.

 

 

Based on the poll results, and general consensus, we will be lifting the four entry limit on SotW contests going forward. We will also see how Screenshot of the Month works with every four contests' worth of entries instead of tying it to the calendar month. This is something I'd like to touch base on midway through the year to see if people still like it. If it turns out to be a bad idea, or too unwieldy for whatever reason, we can go back to calendar month. It's also gonna depend on contest activity too which is always an unknown.

For Screenshot of the Year, we are going to do three brackets, and have three finalists. There will be two brackets with four SotM winners, and one with three SotM winners. The brackets will be randomized, with a goal to not have entrants compete against themselves, until the Finale if possible. Screenshot of the Year brackets will be posted on the 5th, 12th, and 19th of January, with the Finale going up on the 26th. We will have one bracket a week alongside regular Screenshot of the Week.

There will not be a SotW on December 29th, instead we will host the last SotM for the year on that day. This SotM will run for one week until January 5th. I figure people will be busy with the holidays anyway, and it will give us just one contest to focus on then before going into January. The first regular SotW of 2026 will also go up on January 5th, so you can still submit any time before then of course. The first SotM of 2026 will be once we've had 4 SotW contests. I will be posting a next year's SotW Schedule, before the end of the year.

The final SotM of the year is up! The 2026 Schedule is also up. SotY 2025 will start next Monday!! Regular SotW will occur alongside it as long as we get entries (of which we have zero, but that's fine I know people are busy with the holidays )
