in the library, lost travellers town.  i can't get upstairs on one of the versions of the room.  the room with the guy facing with the book on the floor, stairs don't work.  the version with the robed dude beside the stairs, and two people reading at the table works just fine.

edit:  and jared has a typo, "borther geniuses".

I can't believe I missed this one!

(library)  Not sure what floor you're talking about.  Anyway, I added a direct warp combo on the stairway on the second floor in case that's what you were talking about.  That change will be with tonight's update.

(typo) Fixed. Thanks! :)

Am now in the Ancient Ruins.  Just a question/observation  re: level 9 before I proceed further---  After I beat Ganon's pets I "fell" into an empty item room and got stuck and had to F6.  What just happened?

Lightwulf, as I'm nearing the end of this fantastic quest, I want to thank you again for hours of fun and adventure.  This is easily the best one I've played among recent submissions.  Challenging, highly playable, and technically sound. Exploration offers abundant help for the player.  Nice touch on acknowledging known super players and quest makers.  5++++

(Ganon room) Okay, I found the problem.  I had accidentally left one little direct warp combo on the screen.  You must have been the (un-)lucky one to walk onto that combo!  Oh well.  It's fixed now.  There's only a timed warp there now.

...

@Lightwulf - the screen left of Spectacle Rock.  the lava is swimmable at one point, and gives access to a walkable plank of lava, is this intended?  i can't see the purpose of it.

...

You know what, justin?  When I went in to fix this, I found a bunch more swimmable lava combos!  You couldn't reach them, though.  Looks like I accidentally selected that combo when using it on other screens!  Fixed now; it will be in tonight's update.

Edit:

The update has been submitted! :D  It should be available shortly.

Now, off to bed I go.  ... Long weekend... away... from home...

Go to room 07 (the upper-right corner of the map) and beat the wizzrobes; they'll drop the boss key.  After getting the boss key, go south.  The boss isn't in that room, but a passageway leading to the room next to the boss.  (Don't be fooled by the boss-lock door.  If you don't hear the boss roar, it's not the boss.)

Oh, and BTW, you missed the compass in the room immediately to the east of the entrance; beat the enemies there to get it. ;)

Also, FYI, there is a man in the eye and something great in the mouth of the snake on the map (if you haven't found them already). ;)

Thanks, :) I can't believe it was something so simple as 'kill all the enemies'. But I got it now. I already visited the eye, and I'll find my way into the mouth. Great quest so far.

Hmm... I'm not sure why my quest update hasn't posted to the database yet.

@Lukaz:    Okay, I don't quite get it.  I have the wand fire trigger set on the bushes and the wall below it just in case it doesn't catch on the bushes. ...   If you have the magic book, I don't know why it wouldn't trigger on the dungeon wall.  It worked for me...  I'll have to look at it again when I get home.

What version of ZC are you using?

Lightwulf,

Thanks for fixing the quest so I can get into the key maze. How many keys are you supposed to have when you enter the maze?

I only have 2 keys and no matter which doors I go through (1, 2 or 3), I use both keys and can't progress any further.

@Lukaz: Okay, yeah, that's version 2.50.  :-/  I'll take a closer look at it when I get home.  ... Did a flame appear at all (by the trees of the wall below it) or did the magic just disappear?

@Spelunker:  (fixing quest) Yeah, sorry I didn't see my error sooner. :heh:

(key maze) Hmm... You had 2 extra keys, huh?  Well, you can't really progress in the Key Maze until you get the Magic Key from level 9.  Until then, you won't really get far; there are tons of lock blocks and locked doors in there, so unless you discovered an unlimited supply of keys somewhere (which there isn't or I'd know about it) you won't be able to open them all without the Magic Key. :heh:  Sorry.

Finished level 9 and the key maze. Where do I go next?

Did you happen to step on anything at the end of level 9?  If not, go back to the boss's room and go north.

Here's what to you'll find there:

...

Never mind.  I pulled up my save file in 2.50 and confirmed what you were saying.  At first, I was wondering, "Well, how the heck did I get through this room, then???"

Then I tried something out and it worked:
But... but that's not how it's supposed to work!

FYI, this will be fixed in my next update, which I'm doing soon.  This time, the trick I just mentioned in the spoiler won't work and it will require using the mirrors.  I won't say how, but trust me, it will work!

Look at the 3rd picture. I took a screenshot excately when the wand hit the bush, that´s why it looks blue. No fire, and the magic meter is nearly full. As I said, the wand shoot fire everywhere but not at the bushes.

Yeah, but wand fire normally doesn't form on the tree itself, but on the wall beneath it.  Version 2.10 doesn't let the fire form until it hits either a wall or an enemy; then again, I found that the fire doesn't form at all when the magic is reflected.  :lazy:

Anyways, I took back what I said there in my latest post (underline added):

I did that, now looking for the entrance to the Ancient Ruins.

Good!  Hopefully you talked to the guy on the screen to the left of the trigger switch?  That's IDK, one of the PureZC character cameos.

In case you didn't, here's what he says:
Good luck finding it! :)
