Is it just me or does almost everything except Link and Epona look exactly the same as the N64 OoT?

Edit: Graphics, not the game itself.

It's probably just graphical tune-ups that are hard to tell from images. To be honest, except for a few rough-edged polygons, they probably won't change anything apart from better texture details. Take a look at this, at 2:14:

Pretty much what I said. Which I'm not sad about, I kinda like it.

It's higher quality.

Compare this screenshot with 0:58 on this Youtube video. Same basic image, but it's quite different, even if you ignore the daylight change. It's by no means the best example, but there's definitely an improvement.

Edit: Or just look at this. icon_deformed.gif

I'm really not sure what you mean by "graphics, not the game itself," since I'd consider in-game graphics to BE the game itself. icon_razz.gif But since I have no idea what you're trying to say, I'm going to assume you're saying that the 3D models haven't changed much.

Personally, I think that while the style hasn't changed at ALL (seriously -- not at all, which is rare in a remake), the quality has definitely improved. If you think it doesn't look as impressive, it's probably because you're forgetting just how old a game OoT is. And you're probably comparing it to Twilight Princess, too.

While I think it'll be much more appreciable in-person, I definitely see the improvement in OoT 3D. It may be much more subtle since they haven't attempted a new graphical style (like, say, switching to cel-shading), but once we get it in-hand, I'm sure it'll be quite appealing to any OoT fan.

This is looking pretty good. Who knows, maybe I'll buy it and actually bother to play past the Water Dungeon miniboss. (WARNING: Incredibly long tangent that turned this two sentence post into a 5-line post.) I got stuck on it as a kid and then, after trying to pick back up where I left off after a couple of years, never played it again because when I tried to pick up where I left off, the game seriously freaked up. No really, Princess Rito was floating in midair, I think Link went on his side like when you pull the cartrdige out, I started hearing noises similar to doing that and when I paused, a lot of multi-coloured static popped up. I wasn't pulling the cartridge out, there was just a lot of stuff next to and on top of the N64. It'd probably be alright if I tried to play it now.

Is it just me or is the emblem on the Kokiri Shield a little small?
Seems amazing so far!
But Link eyes seem a little strange to me.
And the Kokiri Shield seems a little, bulky for Young Link.
I liked the hearts on the top left. But who knows. I could change.

This young Link looks more like he did in SSBM, than he did in OoT N64. And the Kokiri Shield seems way too thick.

And Young Link in SSBM was based directly off of the Link from N64, and looks more like the OoT manual's depiction of Young Link than the N64 version did...

I like it. Looks great. The shield does look kinda thick, but the model itself looks great compared to the N64 model.

I think (hope) that's just the angle (the sheild, I mean). And Link looks fantastic, if I do say so myself.

Zelda Universe confirms it was, indeed, thicker, but I mean, the old version of the shield was a flat plane mesh on either side (meaning the shield was practically cardboard).

I personally love the new graphics. Can't wait to see it in 3D. icon_biggrin.gif

I like that the shield has depth, but I think it has a little too much depth.

Oh my god. You're complaining about the thickness of Link's shield?... icon_odd2.gif I'm sorry, but that's simply taking nitpicking too far. And need I remind you: a shield has to actually COVER something, so it makes sense for it to be a little wider, in addition to thicker.

The Satellite hit the nail on the head: the new Young Link (and Adult Link) both look more like the original hand-drawn character designs, and therefore look more like SSBM Link, since Link's Melee version was made to look more like the original designs, too.

For example: on the N64, both Links had limited textures available, so even the most detailed part, the face, could only have a certain amount of detail. Secondly, N64 Link didn't have a sword strap; the sheath just stuck to his back as though glued there.

There were plenty of other, smaller details they couldn't do 100% on the N64, many of which they are implementing this time around.

I love the sword strap they FINALLY added icon_razz.gif

But in this picture, Link's eyes look really weird.
I don't really like them much.

His shield looks like he sawed off a piece of the Deku Tree icon_razz.gif
The emblem is still too small >:(
