After a slight delay, I'm happy to announce the first beta for The Third Legacy is ready for testing. Hopefully, it's also the final beta, as I've accomplished nearly everything I wanted to, and tweaked nearly everything I could think of.
Of course, when working on a project this size, you always miss the obvious things that everybody else catches. Plus, everybody has their own way of playing, which may be totally different than mine. So, if anybody wants to give it the once-over sometime in the next week or two (or more if needed), I'd much appreciate it.
What I'm looking for:
- Feedback on the general gameplay/difficulty
- Any game-breaking designs or situations
- Any glitches or fatal bugs
- More detailed feedback on things like design consistency and overall layout, things you would have done differently if you were me, etc.
No need for huge reports - just say stuff like "that passage in x dungeon got way too hard way too fast," "I kept running out of ammo at this boss," "boss key chamber in x dungeon is WAY too hidden," "I broke the reflection room in Treasure Vault #3 by doing this..." etc.
Again, if you want to be more thorough, feel free, but bear in mind I'm running out of time to make any major changes in the layout and progression of the quest, so all I can say is I'll keep such suggestions in mind for possible future quests.
The quest is largely classic-NES-based gameplay, with many of the additional items and enemies that ZC provides, so it should be a fairly straight-forward endeavor - no convoluted puzzles, nothing meant to hang or trick the player. I'm an explorer, and I don't like things that get in the way of my exploration. I tried to make this fun and entertaining rather than annoying, while still providing a gradually-increasing challenge. So, let me know how I'm doing!
No need for application essays or anything. Just say you want in, and I'll put you on the project contributor list and get you hooked up with the quest!
