Isn't it obvious? I made the adventure quest where you vanquish turtles and loot sweet gear. But first you must visit a dungeon where you fall in love with walls and the art gets better, and then go rob crabs (sadly they are not giant and it isn't explained in the end). So I kinda used all three themes, but the turtles and loot one covers the whole quest.

I'll go ahead and null vote since I took part, but I'll be sure to give all the entries a try.

So I started playing these entries. I chose to be a Pokemon Trainer for Deep and whenever I try to use Squirtle in all directions except for right, he just glitches out and appears on the top-left corner of the screen, so killing enemies is near to impossible.

 

I also played Russ's entry and for some reason, the moment I load the game, ZC has a huuuuuge slow down and FPS drops like a bitch. I'm pretty sure this has nothing to do with my computer since I played Lejes's quest just fine a few seconds earlier. Despite the major slow down, I'm pretty impressed though it does feel like another Fight the Monsters from Avataro so far.

I've played a little bit of each of the quests and finished the two shortest ones. The quests here are much more impressive than in the last contest which had a lot of short jokey quests. So far I'm favoring RedTribeLink (he has good taste in tilesets ) but it's gonna be a close decision for sure.

Whoops, the link for RedTribeLink's quest seems to be broken. It's the only one that doesn't work for me and it's the only one hosted on dropbox too.

 

Also, I went ahead and tried Moosh's quest first because it's a puzzle quest

I love it, though it's really frustrating sometimes, especially in the levels that have armos. Those were incredibly hard. I'm stuck in Level 18. xD

Have been playing all of the entries now, except for RedTribeLink's

 

Lejes has got some cool stuff going on, but all in all this quest just feels really empty. The entire world is so lazy designed. I'm hoping for an update, because I remember an NPC saying that the quest is unfinished or something along those lines...

 

Russ' quest is short, but fun. It manages to fit the theme. I think if you had more time, you could further expand on this quest idea to include more stages and more different enemies and bosses, to turn it into a real full-fledged arcade quest.

 

In HeroOfFire's entry I got stuck in a room with a bombable wall. I need a bomb bag, because I can't keep any bombs I collect. I was hoping you'd have a bomb bag in the shop, but there isn't. The palettes are also a bit weird. Otherwise it's a really fine quest with an interesting combination of Classic and Pure!

 

EddyTheOliveira has got great stuff going on in his entry. xD It's really funny. I like it. Grinding for rupees being the main thing to do is a bit lame, but I appreciate everything else in the quest! The story, the mutant robot zombies and the Sephiroth music. I like all of it xD

Thanks for the comments, I'm glad you enjoyed it. With grinding for rupees, I kinda made it more than just grinding. You grind, but you explore and find keys to unlock new shops at the same time. I guess it isn't much of a big difference but yeah I couldn't think of anything better XD

@RedTribeLink I'm at the Dark Spirit or whatever it's called and I seriously cannot beat him. Is there like a method to this or what? The difficulty just SPIKED like crazy all of a sudden.

Wow I'm impressed with RedTribeLink's entry. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Have seen both endings and I've played the quest in defensive mode I really liked how you were able to choose between defense or offensive at the beginning of the quest. That's really creative and adds replay value.

 

The story is great, the dungeons are great and the overworld is great. It has a lot of secrets to find. Also, I'm pretty sure you used some music from our music database. (e.g. Ruined Ice, by tabsim). I wonder where the final boss theme is from.

 

There were some things that I couldn't find out. What are the secrets in these 2 rooms?

I was able to get the hint with the star in the autumn grove, though, but these 2 I have no idea what to do. Also, as you can see I've found a glitch on that second screen. The ladder was a bit buggy and I somehow managed to get down there. If I go down there, I get into an empty screen.

 

Either way, I love your entry. You got my vote

 

Moosh is runner up, for me. The game is way too frustrating, although really fun. lol. I'm stuck in level 26 now. I don't get that level.

@Avataro: Thank you for the review, Avataro.  I'm glad you loved it!

 

The final boss theme is from a game called King of Fighters '96, I believe.  As for the secrets, here are a couple of hints:

Woodfall Swamp Star Secret: The secret has to do with something on the same island as the star (You don't have to be on the island), just look for something different.

Bright Forest Star Secret: This secret is very similar to the Eiyuu Mega Secret, except way less obscure.  This secret is a bit weird, but the best hint I can give here is to look around the screen and watch to see if anything changes, then the ladder might come in handy...

 

From the time I submitted this, I was pretty sure there were going to be a few ladder oddities here and there, but, for the most part, they aren't that easy to find, either.  I'll be sure to fix them and any other bugs if I end up submitting this to the database once the contest is over.

 

@EddyTheOliveria: Yeah, the boss ended up being a bit too powerful.  If you are on Offense Mode, then I would use the wand A LOT.  The best way to not take damage is to keep your distance from him.  If you are on Defensive Mode, use a combination of your shield and your boomerang.  The boomerang deals damage to all three bosses in the game.  Go all boomerang on his third phase.  That's how I approached it.  There is a potion shop as well that you can find if you need potions.  If I release this to the database, I am most likely going to nerf him a bit.
