I'm really trying to play Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge but some things are just so confusing. I'm in the ship and have no idea how to beat the boss that makes the floor on fire. Anyone know what to do?

Shoot missiles when he stops his movements.

Ah okay, I didn't get missles yet. Or rather, I got missles but nothing to shoot them with. I'll go to one of the other places I can go now instead. Thanks!! XD

The ship is L3. Have you finished L2 without missiles? o_O This quest is designed to abuse the use of missiles. Visit Megacity and buy a missile chip in the shops. Exploration and preparations before levels are essential in this quest.

The mega buster is quite useless; it has slow and low ammo. Missiles are basically unlimited and they are quicker! Especially with the upgrades.

Well, I beat that boss and made my way to the final boss on the ship and I just gave up. I'm tired of these scripted bosses. It's hard to tell the hit detection or when you're actually allowed to hurt it. The final ship boss summons guys to kill, then you have to try hitting him with missiles and he tells you "those ancient weapons won't work on me, but keep that beam saber away from me" (I forget what the sword is called) and then he summons traps. At this point how am I supposed to know what to do? Do I try to avoid the traps until he does something different again? I tried attacking him my sword at that point but he seems invulnerable. I have to say, I am not a fan of scripted bosses. I quit another quest called Nargad's Trail because the first scripted boss was so glitchy and had awful hit detection. I understand it's supposed to be fun to have to figure out how to beat the boss, but it's not fun at all when you have to keep walking back there over and over and listen to them talk each time knowing that if you don't figure out what to do you're gonna get bored and quit. Sorry for the rant, lol.

Those are not scripted bosses. Those bosses are actually combos mixed with timed warps, insta warps, flags, regular enemies, and shooting statues. Knowing this, you just have to try different items until you hit the proper flag, kill every enemy on the screen, shoot where the shooting statues are at, and pay attention to your environment. In Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge, you can actually see, on the map, Mega Man warping from room to room when he reaches a different phase of the boss. Bosses of this nature are referred to as 2.10 bosses.

If you want to see 2.10 bosses done well, you should play: Hero of Dreams and Lost Isle. Lost Isle, however, has bosses the kind of feel like scripted bosses.

If you want to see scripted bosses, you should play: Isle of Rebirth, Link's Quest for the Hookshot 2: Quest, and Promise Lands.

You have to use the saber on him o.o It's a very easy boss. In this quest the 95% of bosses are weak to the missiles, when they stop their attacks.

L3 is a very weak level (the worst in the quest), but L4-5-6 are really interesting levels. Specially L6, that "dungeon" is one of the highlights of ZC history. There is a new big city later, and lot of secrets and funny interaction with npcs. It's showing his age (It's a quest from 2004) but still... MMDRWR is a very unique quest. I love the sense of isolation in some of the levels.

Have you the second sword and the armor? I hope you aren't missing those.

I only have the first sword. It doesn't seem to do any damage while those traps are summoned but I'll try again if I can find the second sword. I think I know where I could have gotten it (you go through a weird wormhole thing to get there) but I couldn't get through it when I went in because I didn't have the mega buster or maybe missiles, I dunno which one I needed. Just curious, the building with all the mist in it, is that level 4 or should I have already explored that? I actually tried to play this quest in 2008 but then I got inspired by it to make my own and never got very far in it.

I actually downloaded Hero of Dreams and Promise Lands and Randomizer Modern all at the same time. I'm playing Randomizer Modern right now but I will definitely play the other two. Randomizer Modern is just so much fun, lol. I'm stubborn, though, so I keep trying to explore dungeons that are too strong for me right now. Gotta love having the Hammer, Roc's Feather, and Magnifying Glass early on!

Yeah, L4 is the ??? Dome. Be sure to upgrade your sword and missiles before that! After L3, the shopping center updates his stuff.

This was the quest that got me into ZC.

Well, I beat that boss. But here's the thing, I hardly did anything. I killed the summons, then shot 1 missile, then I walked below him and he acted like I attacked him with the light saber and lost 30% of his HP bar but I never attacked. Then he summoned traps again and I went below him and shot 1 or 2 missiles and he died. Seriously the dumbest boss fight ever, lol. I'm just glad that part is over, it was pretty lame compared to the rest of the game. I don't like dungeons with only 2 types of enemies. I guess back then there wasn't much options. So glad 2.5 has enemy editor!

EDIT: So the funnest thing happened! (<--- sarcasm) After I beat that boss and got off the ship, I saved and stopped playing. When I went back and started my game, I was back on the ship near the boss. Now I'm trapped on the ship. The only way off is through a door that won't open when I go through it. It's one of those doors where you have to kill all the enemies in the room to open it. However, I'm coming from the other side and when I get into that screen I'm trapped behind the door. I tried going back to the boss room but the boss was there again. And even though I beat him again and went into the triforce room I became trapped inside because there was no triforce piece to trigger the next event. So.... I guess I have to start over, but I'm not doing it any time soon. Oh well. *cries in corner*

Are you playing the quest in the proper ZC version? Probably that is the problem... I never tested it in 2.5

This quest suffers from numerous continue bugs, even on 1.92. I don't remember which version of ZC I used to get past them. Maybe it's the one recommended in the quest's database entry, or maybe not. Frankly I don't think it's really worth bothering with.

I usually play Megaman on 2.10.2 It works perfect without continue bugs.

But there is a "minor major" problem... you can't see the extra parts of the ending, after the credits.
